Jennifer Esposito Joins the Cast of Amazon’s The Boys
“’Who watches the watchmen?’ The Boys of course,” according to Simon Pegg. But who watches The Boys? That job is going to NCIS veteran Jennifer Esposito.
Via Deadline, Esposito has signed on to appear in five episodes of Amazon’s The Boys, which is based upon the mature comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Within the show and the comic, the Boys are a CIA black opps team led by Billy Butcher that is tasked with confronting superheroes when they get out of control. And as Pegg so eloquently put it in his introduction for The Boys trade paperback, the titular characters usually “kick the living, f***ing s*** out of [superheroes].”
Esposito will be portraying CIA agent Susan L. Rayner, a woman who shares a complicated dynamic with Billy Butcher. Susan and Billy hate each other, but they also have a destructive sexual relationship as well. In theory, Susan has authority over Billy and his team. But the Boys ultimately answer to no one but themselves.

Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Supernatural creator Eric Kripe developed The Boys for Amazon. The show is expected to retain most of the comic’s boundary pushing violence and sexuality, while exploring the dark side of superhero celebrity and fame. Karl Urban headlines the cast as Billy Butcher, with Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, and Karen Fukuhara as the Female. Elisabeth Shue co-stars in the series alongside Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Nathan Mitchell.
The Boys season 1 is currently in production and it will likely debut on Amazon in 2019.

Venom Director Won’t Say If Spider-Man is In the Movie or Not
Will the Venom movie have any connections to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Marvel’s Kevin Feige has downplayed any potential crossovers with Sony’s Spider-Man adjacent films, Tom Holland has previously been rumored to appear in Venom. Now, Venom director Ruben Fleischer may have unintentionally reignited that rumor by refusing to confirm or deny Spidey’s appearance.
“I honestly don’t know what I’m allowed to say,” said Fleischer, while speaking to The Los Angeles Times. “I mean, I know the answer — I’ve seen the movie. But I don’t want to get in trouble for saying something I’m not supposed to.”
This should be a simple yes or no question. But if Fleischer isn’t allowed to answer, it could mean that Sony and Marvel don’t want to ruin a surprise appearance by Holland’s wall-crawler. Alternately, it could mean that Sony wants fans to speculate about the Spidey cameo even if it’s not really happening.

Amy Pascal, a producer for both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Venom, has previously dropped hints about the possible crossover between the MCU and Sony controlled characters. Adding Spider-Man to the mix would go a long way towards giving Venom a greater legitimacy. Venom is one of Spider-Man’s most iconic villains/antiheroes, and it’s strange to see him completely separated from counterpart.
Tom Hardy will portray Eddie Brock/Venom on the big screen. Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, and Woody Harrelson co-star in the film. If the movie is successful, Sony plans to give films to other Spidey characters. Jackpot, Black Cat, and Silver Sable all candidates to get their own movie. But Morbius the Living Vampire already has Jared Leto lined up for the title role.
Venom will be released on Friday, October 5.

Ghoul Season 1 Episode 3 Recap
In the previous episode of Netflix’s Ghoul, we received clues that Ali Saeed is being used by a spirit for nefarious purposes. Let’s find out as we recap Ghoul season 1 episode 3, ‘Reveal Their Guilt, Eat Their Flesh!’
Ghul Time
Faulad Singh arrived in the interrogation chamber and got to work immediately on Ali Saeed, Nida was left to stand guard outside the chamber. Nida talked to the priest and persuaded him to tell her everything that he knows about Saeed. He stated that Ali Saeed is not a human, but a ‘Ghul.’ Apparently, Ghuls are demons who use fear to control and destroy people.
Singh chained up Saeed and beat him to a bloody pulp. Meanwhile, Commander Sunil received a phone-call, where he was told that Saeed’s body had been found dead in a safe-house and partially eaten. Singh unchained the Ghul and was promptly attacked by it. Singh walked out of the torture chamber and began unlocking the prison cells where all of the terrorists were being kept. Nida noticed this and went to inspect the torture chamber and she found Singh’s decapitated body lying on the floor. The Ghul noticed Nida and began to chase her, but she pulled the alarm and ran away. Nida informed Sunil about what happened. but he didn’t initially believe her.
Impersonation
Sunil investigated the holding area and found Singh’s corpse. The major, Laxmi, accused Nida of being the one who killed Singh and freed Saeed. Sunil ordered Laxmi to be arrested, but all of the soldiers in the compound revolted against him and arrested Sunil and Nida. Nida was thrown into a room with the freed prisoners and the priest informs her of the truth of their situation. She realized the mistake she made by turning her father in to the authorities. A pair of soldiers found the body of a prisoner that has been brutalized to point of being unrecognizable. The priest had been taken over by the Ghul and began to eat all of the prisoners, Nida was able to fight off the Ghul, but she was bitten, which allowed it to take Nida’s form.
Double Vision
Nida was interrogated by Laxmi, while the Ghul and one of the prisoners, Ahmed, snuck through the facility. The Ghul found its way to Sunil’s office. Nida managed to use her training to disarm and overcome Laxmi, while the Ghul attacked a soldier searching the office. Laxmi revealed to Nida that the Ghul had been asking for Nida since it was captured. Sunil shot and killed Laxmi as she was attempting to kill Nida.
Sunil also revealed that Nida’s father is the one who summoned the Ghul. Nida and Sunil decided to go rescue Ahmed. The pair reach Sunil’s office and found a group of soldiers along with Ahmed. Nida learned that her father was found to be innocent, but was ordered to be executed anyway. The Ghul attacked and killed everyone, but Nida and Ahmed were able to escape. They were quickly captured by a group of reinforcements. And that’s where we leave things for the first season.

Eighth Grade’s Elsie Fisher signs on to animated Addams Family movie
The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Elsie Fisher, the 15-year-old actress from the acclaimed Eighth Grade, is joining the cast of the upcoming animated reboot of the classic comic and sitcom The Addams Family.
Fisher, who broke out in the lead role of the Bo Burnham written-and-directed comedy will be portraying Parker Needler, the daughter of the family’s nemesis Margaux.
Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2, Monsters vs. Aliens, Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted) and Greg Tiernan (Thomas & Friends, Day of the Diesels) direct a voice cast led by Golden Globe winner Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Annihilation) as Gomez Addams, with Academy Award winner Charlize Theron (Atomic Blonde, Mad Max: Fury Road) as Morticia Addams, Chloë Grace Moretz (The Miseducation of Cameron Post, If I Stay) as Wednesday Addams, Finn Wolfhard (It, Netflix’s Stranger Things) as Pugsley Addams, Nick Kroll (Big Mouth, Sing) as Uncle Fester, Bette Midler (Hocus Pocus, Beaches) as Grandmama and Academy Award winner Allison Janney (I, Tonya) as the family’s arch nemesis Margaux Needler.
Vernon and Tiernan co-direct from Matt Lieberman’s screenplay based on the Charles Addams’ iconic cartoon series. The film will be produced by Vernon with Gail Berman, via her shingle The Jackal Group, and Alex Schwartz. It will be executive produced by Andrew Mittman, Kevin Miserocchi and Joe Earley. Tabitha Shick, MGM’s Executive Director, Worldwide Motion Pictures is overseeing the project on behalf of the studio. CG Animation and digital visual effects production is underway in Vancouver at Cinesite Studios, one of the world’s most highly respected independent digital entertainment companies.
Based on the famous New Yorker creations of Charles Addams, this animated action-comedy will follow the Addams family whose lives begin to unravel when they face-off against a crafty reality-TV host while also preparing for their extended family to arrive for a major celebration, Addams-style.
Morticia, devilishly devoted to her husband and children, is the pale glue that holds her clan together. Gomez, debonair, sinister and passionately in love with his wife, is enthusiastic about whatever dreadful scheme he’s cooked up. Wednesday is a brilliant and sinister teenage girl with long braids and dead-pan wit. Pugsley, a menacing 10 year old on over-drive, enjoys getting into any kind of dreadful mischief he can find. Mad Uncle Fester is good natured, merry and likes to create mayhem any way he can. Grandmama is smitten with her grandchildren who enjoy her cookies shaped like bats and skulls. Margaux Needler, the reality TV makeover queen, is consumed with a desire for absolute suburban, pastel perfection.
The Addams Family will be distributed theatrically in the U.S. by MGM on October 11, 2019.

Annapurna Pictures‘ dark comedy/western The Sisters Brothers has unveiled a new poster ahead of its September release date. You can check out the poster, as well as a bunch of new photos, in the gallery below!
Directed by Jacques Audiard, and based on Patrick Dewitt’s acclaimed novel of the same name, The Sisters Brothers follows two brothers – Eli and Charlie Sisters – who are hired to kill a prospector who has stolen from their boss. The story, a genre-hybrid with comedic elements, takes place in Oregon in 1851. The film is Jacques Audiard’s follow-up to his Palme D’Or Winning Dheepan, which premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
Starring as the title pair are Joaquin Phoenix (Walk the Line, Her, The Master) and John C. Reilly (Step Brothers, Wreck-It Ralph), and joining them in the film are Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler, Prisoners), and Riz Ahmed (Rogue One, Four Lions). Audiard penned the script with Thomas Bidegain.

Phoenix will be seen in The Joker, playing the role of the iconic Batman villain. Reilly just completed playing Oliver Hardy in the big-screen story of iconic comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, as well as Dr. Watson alongside Will Ferrell in the comedic send-up of Sherlock Holmes.
The Sisters Brothers rides into theaters September 21.

Netflix announced today that the drama series The Rise of the Phoenixes will be available on their streaming platform internationally starting September 14th. The show will be available in more than a dozen languages around the world when it premieres.
The Rise of Phoenixes is a 70-episode series loosely based on Huang Quan, a novel by Tianxia Guiyuan, and co-produced by Netflix along with Croton Media (China Syndication), K. Pictures, Hao Mai Culture, Iqiyi, COL Group and New Film Association.
The series features iconic names in the Mandarin movie industry including Shen Yan and Liu Haibo (Chinese Style Relationship) as directors, William Chang (The Grandmaster, In the Mood for Love, Ashes of Time) as artistic director and costume designer, as well as Chen Kun and Ni Ni as the leading cast. This series not only marks the debut of Ni Ni’s first role on television, but also Chen Kun’s highly anticipated return to the small screen after a decade.

Deadline has word that actress Jane Krakowski (30 Rock, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) has signed on to co-star in Apple’s half-hour comedy series Dickinson, based on the life of 1800s poet Emily Dickinson, played by Hailee Steinfeld (Bumblebee, Pitch Perfect 2). Krakowski will play Mrs. Dickinson, Emily’s mother.
Dickinson is set during Emily Dickinson’s era with a modern sensibility and tone. It takes viewers into the world of Emily, audaciously exploring the constraints of society, gender, and family from the perspective of a budding writer who doesn’t fit into her own time through her imaginative point of view. Dickinson, written by Alena Smith (The Affair, The Newsroom), is Emily’s coming-of-age story — one woman’s fight to get her voice heard.
David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Vice Principals) is set to direct and will also executive produce alongside Smith, Michael Sugar (Spotlight) and Ashley Zalta (Maniac) for Sugar23 Productions, as well as Alex Goldstone for Anonymous Content, and Darlene Hunt (The Big C). The series hails from Paul Lee’s independent studio, wiip.
Dickinson will be joining Apple’s other upcoming series including three from Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, a morning-show drama starring Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, Are You Sleeping starring Octavia Spencer, and a comedy toplined by Kristen Wiig. Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories, a Ronald D. Moore space drama, a Damien Chazelle series, world-building drama See from Steven Knight and Francis Lawrence, and an M. Night Shyamalan psychological thriller are all also on Apple’s slate.
Krakowski most recently co-starred in the Netflix series The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which is coming to an end after four seasons. She can be seen next in the upcoming animated film Henchmen with Nathan Fillion, and is currently working on The Willoughbys alongside Terry Crews and Maya Rudolph.

Frank Schaetzing’s eco-thriller The Swarm coming to TV
Deadline reports that author Frank Schaetzing‘s eco-thriller The Swarm is being developed into a TV drama. Producer Frank Doelger (Game of Thrones) is adapting the novel for the small screen, which is slated to start production sometime in 2019.
Schaetzing gave the following statement about the development. “The question about a possible film adaptation of The Swarm was the one I was most frequently asked about. Every time my answer was: deadlock. Who would have thought that the ideal team would come together after all, that visionary TV producers and pro-players including Game of Thrones creative force Frank Doelger would come on board to steer this large-scale international TV series, which is the strongest narrative form one could adapt an adventure like The Swarm into. It’s full steam ahead from now on. I’m very excited and looking forward to this collaboration.”
Doelger also commented, comparing the fantasy world of Game of Thrones with our current environmental climate. “After having spent eight seasons in the mythical world of Game of Thrones, it is great to return to the present with The Swarm and its searing exploration of the impending doom brought about by man’s callous disregard of the oceans, a doomsday scenario as dire as anything imagined by George R.R. Martin.”
Doelger and Schaetzing will serve as Executive Producers alongside Eric Welbers. This is the first drama project to come out of Doelger’s nascent Intaglio Films, a new German TV production company aiming to produce English-language dramas for the international market.

Following the recent announcement that Oscar-winner Sir Ben Kingsley (Gandhi, House of Sand and Fog, Operation Finale) had joined the upcoming EPIX series Our Lady, LTD, TheWrap brings word that Emmy nominee Jimmi Simpson (Westworld, Unsolved, House of Cards) will star opposite Kingsley in the 10-episode modern noir drama from MGM Television.
Our Lady, LTD follows James (Simpson), a young grifter as he attempts to prey upon Pastor Byron Brown (Kingsley), who turns out to be far more dangerous than he suspects.
James is described as a disgraced firefighter who seizes a chance, illicit opportunity to reverse his life’s worsening course. When his plan veers dangerously off track, James must call on strength and fortitude he did not know he possessed in order to survive it all.
Steve Conrad and Bruce Terris (Patriot) will serve as executive producers and co-showrunners for the series, which is expected to go into production in Santa Fe, New Mexico this fall with an eye towards a 2019 premiere. Conrad will likewise direct six episodes, while Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will also serve as executive producers.
EPIX’s upcoming series slate includes Forest Whitaker’s Godfather of Harlem, Pennyworth which tells the origin story about Bruce Wayne/Batman’s best friend and butler, and an adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five.

Netflix series Another Life adds New Mutants star Blu Hunt
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Netflix series Another Life has added New Mutants star Blu Hunt to its growing ensemble. No details have been disclosed as to the nature of her role.
Another Life, created by showrunner Aaron Martin (Slasher, Saving Hope) centers on astronaut Niko Breckinridge, who is focused on searching for alien intelligence. She leads a crew on a mission to explore the genesis of an alien artifact. As Niko and her young crew investigate, they face unimaginable danger on what might very well be a one-way mission.
The series stars Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) as Niko Breckinridge, as well as Selma Blair (Anger Management, American Crime Story, Heathers), Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf, Supergirl), Samuel Anderson (Trollied, Doctor Who), Elizabeth Faith Ludlow (The Walking Dead), and Justin Chatwin (American Gothic, Orphan Black).
Martin also as executive producer alongside executive producer Noreen Halpern (Rookie Blue, Haven) through her Halfire Entertainment banner (Alias Grace). The first two episodes of the 10-episode series will be directed by Omar Madha (The 100, 24: Life Another Day, The Blacklist).
While Another Life doesn’t have a premiere date set for take-off, Hunt can be seen in the X-Men spinoff New Mutants when it hits theaters in August next year.

Their run in the Marvel Cinematic Universe might seemingly be coming to an end, but the Russo Brothers have been planning their next moves for years ahead and their upcoming project, Dhaka, is coming together with the casting of Chris Hemsworth in the lead role.

The plot details are being kept under wraps at the moment, but it is known that the film will be an action movie about a man who has to extract a kidnapped Indian boy. The film is set to shoot in India and Thailand, according to Deadline, and will be produced by Netflix. Joe Russo has written the script while Sam Hargrave, known for his stunt work in multiple MCU movies as well as small roles in action films such as Atomic Blonde, will be making his directorial debut with the film.

The next Russos Brothers film, the untitled fourth Avengers film, is set to hit theaters on May 3, 2019, while Hemsworth is currently filming the upcoming Men in Black spin-off alongside his Thor Ragnarok co-star Tessa Thompson and can be seen in the upcoming mystery thriller Bad Times at the El Royale, which hits theaters October 12.

“It’s hard thing to put into words, feelings. But I’m going to try.
This business is always an adventure, full of travel and opportunities to tell stories. Usually as an actor, every few months, you travel to a new place, start a new project, build a new character, learn new rhythms, new inside jokes with your crew, make new friends.
Until “Shameless” came into my life 8 years ago, I led that kind of transient wonderful life of an actor. And I never realized how much I actually craved the kind of continuity that this show has given me. And given all of us in the crew. Season after season I’m amazed that our same crew comes back. And it’s not just because it’s a wonderfully written, wonderfully layered show. There are these real connections, real friendships that bring us back season after season after season.
See, in real life, unlike Fiona, I’m an only child. I never had a big family. Being ensconced in that messy Gallagher family love is something I’d always dreamed of. But even off set, it feels real. We’ve watched the kids grow up into the strong, talented, independent human beings that they are. I taught Emma to shave her legs. I was there when Ethan learned to drive. Shanola and Jeremy and Joan and Bill danced at my wedding in New York last year. Our fearless leader John Wells thankfully held Sam and me up on those rickety chairs during the hora. I’ve spent the Jewish holy days in temple with David Nevins and his wonderful wife and kids. It really feels like a family.
This kind of stability, this family, has nurtured me and made feel safe enough to stretch and grow creatively. The way John Wells has shepherded me as an actress, and more recently how he’s encouraged me wholeheartedly as a director and a writer, has been an honor and a privilege.
We have made over 100 hours of television. That’s no small feat. There’s a new study that says it takes 100 hours to become friends with someone. The Gallaghers have been in people’s living rooms for 100 hours. So, it makes sense. We can feel your connection to us, to these characters. In the airport, in restaurants, on the street, when people call out “Hi Fiona” “Oh my god, it’s Lip” or “Screw you Frank!”… it feels good.
The opportunity to play Fiona has been a gift. There are few characters — female or otherwise — as layered and dynamic. She is a mother lion, fierce, flawed and sexually liberated. She is injured, vulnerable, but will never give up. She is living in an economic depression, but refuses to be depressed. She is resourceful. She is loyal. She is brave. I knew it the second I read the pilot script, this was different, this was special. I tirelessly prepped the audition with my coach Terry Knickerbocker. I walked to the appointment in the rain so I looked disheveled. During my third audition, when I got the part IN the room, I literally jumped up and down screaming in joyous relief and disbelief. Quite simply, the last eight years have been the best of my life.
Malcolm Gladwell says it takes 10,000 hours to become truly good at something. To become world class. Well by my calculation, 100 episodes, 7 days per episode (plus Chicago weeks), 12 hour days, we’re just at about 10,000 hours. So I guess we’re finally good at this. I can say for certain that this cast and crew, who I’ve been have truly honored to work alongside, are world class. I am proud and I’m filled with gratitude.
I know you will continue on without me, for now. There is much more Gallagher story to be told. I will always be rooting for my family. Try not to think of me as gone, just think of me as moving down the block.

Season nine of Shameless will premiere on Sunday, September 9 and will feature the show’s 100th episode in week four.

Call Me by Your Name director Luca Guadagnino steps behind the camera for the remake of Dario Argento’s 1977 classic which features a script by David Kajganich (A Bigger Splash, The Terror). The horror film will have its world premiere at 75th Venice International Film Festival.
It had been previously reported that actress Tilda Swinton plays two roles in the film, taking on the role of “real life German psychoanalyst” Lutz Ebersdorf who will “make his feature debut” in the film, but Guadagnino confirmed to Yahoo back in February that he will be portrayed by the real Ebersdorf. The score will be composed by legendary singer/songwriter Thom Yorke of Radiohead.
Suspiria will officially debut in theaters on November 2. Fans in New York and Los Angeles will have the opportunity to watch the film one week early as select theaters will debut the feature on October 26.

Kyliegh Curran (I Can I Will I Did) has joined Stephen King’s The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep movie as Abra Stone, Deadline has confirmed. Similar to Danny Torrance, played by Ewan McGregor (Christopher Robin), Abra is a girl who has the gift of The Shining.
Curran joins McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson (Mission Impossible – Fallout), Zahn McClarnon (Westworld), Carl Lumbly (Supergirl), and Alex Essoe (Midnighters) in the project. The outlet notes that Curran impressed the Doctor Sleep filmmakers during casting with her flair of authenticity.

Doctor Sleep is set to be directed and written by Mike Flanagan, making it his second King adaptation after the acclaimed Gerald’s Game. Warner Bros. will release the movie on January 24, 2020. His producing partner, Trevor Macy, is set to produce along with Jon Berg for Vertigo Entertainment.
Published 36 years after The Shining, Doctor Sleep follows an adult Danny Torrance (McGregor) from the original novel. Not only will Damon Herriman (Justified, Quarry, J. Edgar) be playing Charles Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, but Collider has confirmed that the actor will also be portraying the infamous cult leader in season two of David Fincher’s Mindhunter for Netflix as well.
Furthermore, it sounds like Herriman already shot scenes as Manson in the Netflix series last month, having been cast in Mindhunter earlier than today’s announcement. Sources told the outlet that while Herriman will be playing a 1969-era Manson in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, fans of Mindhunter will be seeing him play a 1980s version after Manson had already been locked up.

How do we get ahead of crazy if we don’t know how crazy thinks? In Mindhunter, two FBI agents (Jonathan Groff & Holt McCallany) set out on a sinister investigative odyssey to discover the brutal answers. Season two will likely feature the Atlanta Child Murders — which took place between 1979 and 1981 — Son of Sam and the reappearance of the BTK Killer.
Mindhunter features Jonathan Groff (Looking, Frozen, The Normal Heart), Holt McCallanay (Sully, Fight Club, Gangster Squad), Anna Torv (Fringe, Heavenly Sword, The Daughter) and Hannah Gross (Unless, I Used to Be Darker, Take What You Can Carry). The series is directed by David Fincher (Gone Girl, The Social Network, Zodiac), Asif Kapadia (Amy, Senna), Tobias Lindholm (A War, A Hijacking) and Andrew Douglas (The Amityville Horror, U Want Me 2 Kill Him?).
Joe Penhall (The Road) created the series. Fincher, Joshua Donen (Gone Girl, The Quick and the Dead), Charlize Theron (Girlboss, Hatfields & McCoys) and Cean Chaffin (Gone Girl, Fight Club) are executive producers. The first season of Mindhunter has been Certified Fresh with a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, and was lauded by critics for its reinvention of the crime procedural, when it premiered in October.
There has been no release date set for the second season of Mindhunter, meaning it’s too early to tell whether or not we will see Herriman as Manson on the big screen before he heads behind bars on the Netflix series.
Production for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is currently underway in Los Angeles for Sony Pictures and the film is slated for release on July 26, 2019.

Oscar nominee Hugh Jackman stars as the charismatic politician Gary Hart in the film that follows the rise and fall of Senator Hart, who captured the imagination of young voters and was considered the overwhelming front runner for the 1988 Democratic presidential nomination when his campaign was sidelined by the story of an extramarital relationship with Donna Rice. As tabloid journalism and political journalism merged for the first time, Senator Hart was forced to drop out of the race – events that left a profound and lasting impact on American politics and the world stage.

Things get spooky in the new trailer for season 13 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. In the show’s tradition of riffing off popular culture for its promo material, this teaser, titled “Paranormal Paddy’s,” seems to tap heavy into the ‘found footage’ aesthetic made popular with films like Paranormal Activity. The Gang returns–mostly–in the 13th season of the FXX original comedy series It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Mac (Rob McElhenney), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dee (Olson) and Frank (Danny DeVito) return to their duplicitous, scheming ways at Paddy’s Pub, while Dennis (Howerton) takes on the new role of father in North Dakota. Even without Dennis Reynolds, the Gang has its hands full as Charlie hopes to have a child with The Waitress, Mac sets out to understand his newfound sexuality, Dee takes feminism to new heights and Frank goes to great lengths for the Gang to experience the greatest moment in Philadelphia sports history – an Eagles Super Bowl victory.
Even though only four members of The Gang appear the new trailer, it was confirmed earlier this month that Glenn Howerton would be returning to the series in its 13th season in his role of Dennis, who had seemingly made his exit in the previous season finale.
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia season 13 will premiere on September 5, 2018, on FXX.

In an official release from Electronic Arts, the video game company has announced that the release date of the anticipated Battlefield V has been pushed back a month from October 19 to November 20.
In a statement release by Oskar Gabrielson, General Manager of DICE: “We believe we have one of the best Battlefield games ever on our hands. A game that will deliver on an emotional journey through the return of unseen single player War Stories, a deep multiplayer experience, Battle Royale, along with our new live service, Tides of War – a journey across multiple theaters of WW2 and designed to keep our community together.’
“With the Open Beta just around the corner, we are excited about the millions of you who will join us and experience the game. And we fully expect to see even more feedback coming our way.’
“And that’s why we’re moving our launch date. We’re going to take the time to continue to make some final adjustments to core gameplay, and to ensure we really deliver on the potential of Tides of War.’
“We know moving the launch date means that we all have to wait a little longer. But we’re going to take our time to make sure we get it right.”
In addition to their stated reasons, it’s also likely the company wanted to remove the game from the crowed release schedule in October. Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Red Dead Redemption 2 are just a few of the AAA video game titles being released this October.

Following yesterday’s report that the streaming service was considering theatrical releases for some of its high profile movies, Deadline brings word that Netflix has set theatrical release dates for several of its upcoming films in order to ensure that they qualify for the awards for awards season.
Paul Greengrass’ Norway political thriller 22 July will arrive on October 10, with the much-anticipated Coen Brothers’ western The Ballad of Buster Scruggs on November 16, and Alfonso Cuaron’s black and white epic Roma will be released on December 14. These reported release dates also align with the films’ debut on the streaming service. These films will have a limited run in the theaters, only being featured in 10-12 Landmark theater locations in major markets.
In 22 July, Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Paul Greengrass (Captain Phillips, United 93) tells the true story of the aftermath of Norway’s deadliest terrorist attack. On 22 July 2011, 77 people were killed when a far-right extremist detonated a car bomb in Oslo before carrying out a mass shooting at a leadership camp for teens. 22 July uses the lens of one survivor’s physical and emotional journey to portray the country’s path to healing and reconciliation.
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is a six-part Western anthology film, a series of tales about the American frontier told through the unique and incomparable voice of Joel and Ethan Coen. Each chapter tells a distinct story about the American West.
Roma chronicles a turbulent year in the lives of a middle-class family in 1970s Mexico City. Cuarón, inspired by the women from his childhood, delivers an artful ode to the matriarchy that shaped his world. Filmed in luminous black and white, Roma is an intimate, gut-wrenching and ultimately life-affirming portrait of the ways, small and large, one family maintains its balance in a time of personal, social and political strife.
