VPR: Pregnant Scheana Shay Attends Krystal Nielson's Gender Reveal

Mom-to-be Scheana Shay is making the most out of her pregnancy--and supporting her pregnant pals along the way! The Vanderpump Rules star stopped by her friend Krystal Nielson's gender reveal to celebrate The Bachelor star's baby news.

This fall, Shay announced that she was expecting a baby with her boyfriend Brock Davies. Shay opened up about her fertility journey on season 8 of Vanderpump Rules and revealed that she suffered a miscarriage this summer. Shay remarked that her friendship with Lala Kent was strained after Kent allegedly failed to support her during her pregnancy loss. Shay is currently 18 weeks pregnant with a baby girl, whose gender reveal she celebrated with friends and family earlier this month.

Although her friendships with several of her fellow Vanderpump Rules castmates have been somewhat strained, Shay is supported on her pregnancy journey by her friend Krystal Nielson, whose due date is only nine days away from Shay's. Shay shared a sweet picture of the two friends embracing and comparing baby bumps at Neilson's gender reveal party, where Nielsen announced that she is also expecting a baby girl. Shay captioned the photo: "Our baby girls are going to be best friends!"

Neilson, who appeared on Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s season of The Bachelor, became engaged to Chris Randone on season 5 of Bachelor in ParadiseThe couple were married for less than a year before they announced their separation in February. Following their split, Nielson began dating Miles Bowles. In November, Neilson and Bowles shared the news with fans that they were expecting their first child together.

Shay is one of several Vanderpump Rules cast members and ex-cast members to be currently expecting a child. Stassi Schroeder, who was fired by Bravo earlier this year for racist actions and statements, is expecting a baby girl with husband Beau Clark. Also pregnant with a baby girl is Lala Kent, who is engaged to producer Randall Emmett. Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, who married in Kentucky in 2019, are parents-to-be of a baby boy. Taylor has expressed his desire to film a Vanderpump Rules spin-off show that would follow the members of the original cast who are starting families. The new show would exclude Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix, with whom Taylor has been publicly feuding.

When PS5 Restocks Are Coming After Black Friday (& Where)

With Black Friday now passed, many who were yet again unable to snatch a PlayStation 5 during the post-Thanksgiving restocks are wondering if there will be any consoles available before the holiday season is over. The unprecedented demand for the new PlayStation 5 has left many in the dust as they battle against scalpers and online waiting queues for major retailer websites. However, the hunt might be over for those following restock information diligently, as more PS5 consoles will be available before the end of the year.

Currently, the best way to know if restocks are imminent is to keep up with retailer websites and social media accounts. Stores like Walmart have been especially good at letting those still waiting know when consoles will be available. One of the bigger issues that has buyers struggling comes from having to purchase PS5 systems online. Only a few stores, like GameStop, have allowed gamers to come in-person to purchase a PS5, due to safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Buying online often means battling internet connection, scalpers, and crashing servers on retail websites, only complicating the process for those attempting to purchase a PS5 console.

Related: Why You Shouldn't Buy A PS5 From A Scalper Online

There is hope for those waiting for restocks, however, thanks to a tweet put out by Sony last week. The company says it intends to have more stock available at major retail stores before the end of the year. This is good news for those who want to purchase a PS5 safely from a reputable seller and avoid being scammed by scalpers selling consoles for inflated prices. While there are not yet definite dates for when these restocks can be expected, by keeping up with Sony and retail sites, those still waiting in line will be able to get the most recent updates.

As far as retailer announcements of restocks, Walmart Canada announced on November 26 that the retailer's website will have more consoles on the way sometime after Cyber Monday. There's no word yet from other regions' Walmart stores on upcoming restocks, however, and other retailers have been less vocal about their inventories.

One of the reasons gamers are seeing a shortage in available PS5 consoles may simply come down to the "unprecedented" demand, as Sony called it, for the device. The PS5 outsold the Xbox Series X/S by nearly double on launch day, and, according to PriceCharting, Sony's console is being resold by scalpers for hundreds of dollars more than the Xbox Series X/S, showing the value that has been put on the PS5 by resellers and fans alike. Gamers shouldn't purchase from scalpers, however, as restocks will give them fair prices and guarantee that they are getting what they buy, in exchange for the wait.

The wait to finally buy a PS5 may be starting to feel like an impossible task for some gamers, but with news that restocks are intended to come before the end of the year, those still in line will hopefully get their PS5 in the coming weeks. The excitement over the new console and all the new features PlayStation 5 has to offer shows that, while the wait may be long, it will hopefully be worth it. In the meantime, gamers should continue to consult their local retail stores for restock information.

Who is Marvel’s Deadliest Non-Powered Villain? | Screen Rant

When it comes to Marvel Comics, it can be argued that favorite heroes are only as good as their villains. Their goodness is defined in opposition to the villain’s evilness, and their battles with them are often a colossal clash of powers and abilities. But what about the baddies without the powers?

Marvel has some of comics' best villains - from big-screen baddies like the universe-destroying Thanos to ne’er-do-wells like the centipede-loving Kindred - and their roster of non-powered villains is just as impressive. While it’s easy to see why someone like Thanos or Kindred may be a threat to heroes, it’s sometimes harder to see why anyone with powers would be threatened by a “normal,” non-powered person, even if they are evil.

Related: Marvel's Most Evil Organization Makes Thanos Seem Reasonable

To be a non-powered villain, characters must use what abilities they do have. For some villains, that means loading up on tech. One of the best examples Anton Vanko, aka Crimson Dynamo. As an intelligent inventor, Vanko creates a suit for himself that is just as strong as Iron Man’s. His intelligence means that he presents a deadly threat for Iron Man and any other who may stand in his way. A villain with a mind sharp enough to use their skills and knowledge to build technology to fight a superhero is an immediate threat. After all, heroes can’t out-punch intelligence.

But is a man in a metal suit that much of a threat to another man in a metal suit? Maybe, maybe not. When building evil technological marvels, a level of creativity is required. Otto Octavius, aka Doc Ock, first appeared in comics in 1963 as a foil for the newly minted superhero Spider-Man. As a portly, bespectacled scientist, he seems like an unlikely nemesis, but his creativity, paired with his intelligence makes him a real threat. His many tentacled arms make him that much more difficult to beat and has allowed him to get the upper hand on Spider-Man on more than one occasion. While some readers may consider his mental connection to the mechanical arms a “power,” others argue it’s still just science, albeit comic book science. Plus, Spider-Man fights the tentacles, not Doc Ock’s mind.

Cleverness and creativity are, of course, a deadly combination, but are they the deadliest? Comic books are full of criminals. Criminals who fly, criminals who grow and shrink, criminals who have super-speed. Kingpin aka Wilson Fisk, however, is a criminal with power. His power is not just physical—though his massive body and fight training do make him a real threat—but the power of a massive criminal network at his fingertips and the money to purchase or destroy whatever he desires. Despite this, though, he is not someone who is afraid to get his hands dirty, making him far deadlier than any lone wolf tech nerd with a bone to pick. As a mob boss and a strongman fighter, his power makes him an incredibly deadly villain.

But to be the deadliest villain, it’s not enough to be intelligent, creative, and powerful—one needs to be driven. In Marvel Comics, there is no supervillain with more drive than Red Skull. While baddies like Doc Ock and Kingpin set their sights on taking down a singular superhero and controlling a city, Red Skull set bigger goals: world domination. Driven by rage, he is handpicked by Hitler to lead and given control over money, over scientific projects, over scores of men, allowing him to pursue his goal of genocide and world domination.

Marvel has created many villains over the years. Of these villains, there are plenty without superpowers, and some, like Red Skull, are actually truly deadly. Nazis are evil, and Nazis with a plan and an immense amount of power and technology at their disposal are especially dangerous. Unlike many of comics' gimmicky villains, Red Skull expresses a real, deadly ideology that many equally evil people believe to this day. The realism of Red Skull's threats, plus the power he has to make them happen, makes him the deadliest of Marvel’s non-powered supervillains.

It's finally so great to see that Paul and Karine's life is now back on track. During the show, the couple went through a really tough time. Once, the Brazil-born beauty locked herself in the bathroom and didn't come out while the production crew waited for her. Later on, she told the 90 Day Fiancé cameras that she was arguing with Paul every day and felt lonely in the United States. Plus, her 37-year-old husband failed to land a decent paying job, which made their survival even more problematic. Eventually, things took a drastic turn, and pregnant Karine had to run away from her house with her 19-month-old son, Pierre. But, in early October, the couple decided to give their marriage a second chance and dropped their restraining orders against each other. They are now living together in Brazil. Judging by Paul's social media posts, it seems like the duo is actually happy together.

90 Day Fiancé: Deavan Clegg’s Instagram Post Shows Ring On Her Finger

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way's Deavan Clegg's recent Instagram post showed her showing off a ring on her ring finger as the couple kissed. While she has often stated that she and Topher Park just find rings on Amazon fans can’t help but wonder if there will be an engagement announcement soon.

In the recent episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, viewers watched as Jihoon's relationship with Deavan started to get back on track. Even though Jihoon is trying his best to be the man Deavan wants he is still failing. Fans are about to see what it takes to plan a big fat Korean wedding even though Deavan was upset at how her second trip to South Korea went. Fans now know that Deavan is dating a new man who she met on one of her flights from Korea during the coronavirus pandemic. The two have wasted no time in forcing their PDA on their followers trying to rub Jihoon’s nose in their new relationship.

So happy I got to experience this with you @hyu.nw . Make sure to follow @tophandher for updates on Issue 07.” Check out her post below:

In general, fans were a bit confused as to why the TLC star would think that anyone would want to watch a documentary about her life when they already have watched a lot of 90 Day Fiancé. Deavan’s hand was precariously placed against Topher’s face and a ring could visibly be seen. Upon closer investigation, the ring does not look to be a traditional diamond, but fans are sure the reality star wanted the extra attention.

Even though Deavan is excited about her new journey she is still married to Jihoon Lee. The couple is not expected to make an appearance at the reunion tell-all due to the abuse allegations that Deavan has brought against her soon to be ex-husband. The aspiring model is making her living off of her OnlyFans and other various endorsements which include posting clickbait links to plagiarized articles. But not thanks to the cryptic photo many fans are thinking that the couple are secretly engaged.

The Office: What Creed Says In Chinese Translated | Screen Rant

What does Creed say in Chinese in The Office? Many colorful characters worked at Dunder Mifflin over the years, but Creed Bratton was without a doubt the company’s craziest employee. The quirky quality assurance director is a fictionalized version of actor and musician Creed Bratton – whose real name, like his fictional counterpart, is William Charles Schneider – and is one of the most meta and hilarious additions to The Office.

An enigmatic and all-around baffling man, Creed - the character, that is - is as much a mystery to The Office viewers as he is to his co-workers. Legend has it he started working at Dunder Mifflin after walking into the office one day and never leaving, while back during his hippy days in the 1960s he trafficked endangered species meat and pilfered weapons-grade LSD from the military. Unsurprisingly Creed is responsible for some of the best WTF moments in The Office, such as revealing he used to be a cult leader or coming into work wearing a bloodstained shirt – the latter of which led to speculation he may be the Scranton Strangler.

Related: The Office: Who Was The Scranton Strangler?

Despite his bizarre ways and the fact he doesn’t seem to do very much at Dunder Mifflin apart from play Spider Solitaire on his computer, Creed Bratton is actually a man of many talents. Not only can Creed identify specific strains of cannabis by photo alone, he also has extensive knowledge of both prescription painkillers and the Kama Sutra. In The Office season 2 episode “Dwight’s Speech” Creed revealed he was bilingual too when he gave a shout-out to his Chinese friends in Mandarin. He showed off his language skills again during season 7 episode “Viewing Party” but failed to translate what he said into English. So, what did Creed say in Chinese in “Viewing Party”?

The episode sees Erin Hannon (Ellie Kemper) and Gabe (Zach Woods) hosting a Glee viewing party at the latter’s apartment. Andy (Ed Helms) is exploring Gabe’s apartment with Ryan (B.J. Novak) when they find a bottle of powdered seahorse which Ryan describes as a Chinese virility herb. A jealous Andy pours the powdered seahorse into his glass of wine and although it seems to have the desired effect at first, he soon starts feeling rather ill.

Andy asks Creed Bratton for help in reading what is written on the bottle of the powdered seahorse to which his bilingual co-worker replies “海马不要跟酒乱搞” (or “Hǎimǎ bùyào gēn jiǔluàn gǎo” in pinyin) which roughly translates to “Do not mix the seahorse with alcohol.” Seeing as Andy spent the rest of The Office episode throwing up, it’s a shame he didn’t ask Creed for help before necking the concoction. Though considering Creed – in typical bizarre fashion – didn’t bother providing Andy with an English translation, it probably wouldn’t have helped.

Every Unmade Lord Of The Rings Movie (& Why They Didn't Happen)

Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy proved to be a cinematic masterpiece - but many filmmakers had tried, and failed, to make the films before. J.R.R. Tolkien was one of the greatest fantasy writers of all time, and with the benefit of hindsight it was inevitable his books would become blockbusters. And yet, it took surprisingly long for Tolkien's works to triumph on the big screen.

The initial problem was Tolkien himself. Tolkien was exceptionally detail-oriented even by the standard of fantasy writers, and he doesn't appear to have been particularly appreciative of attempts to adapt his work. As he wrote in response to one script, "I would ask [the scriptwriters] to make an effort of imagination sufficient to understand the irritation (and on occasion the resentment) of an author, who finds, increasingly as he proceeds, his work treated as it would seem carelessly in general, in places recklessly, and with no evident signs of any appreciation of what it is all about." While Tolkien understood film is a different medium, he did not believe the conventions should differ too greatly, and hence resisted significant alterations. After his passing, studios wrestled with the fear his fans would share the same view.

Some animated and even TV adaptations did manage to get off the ground, but they received a mixed reception. Consequently, when Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring released in 2002, many viewers felt as though it was the first real blockbuster version of the iconic story. And they were frankly glad they had waited because while Jackson did make changes, his love for the original books was evident throughout. What's more, it was clearly evident the stories would not have been possible had VFX technology not become sufficiently advanced - and even then, the creative team had to make major innovations, most famously with Gollum. Still, for all these earlier adaptations would have failed to achieve the acclaim of Jackson's movies, they offer a fascinating glimpse into the franchise as it might have been. Here's your guide to all the unmade Lord of the Rings movies.

In a curious coincidence of timing, The Hobbit released just months before Disney's Snow White - and neither Tolkien nor his friend C.S. Lewis were impressed. Tolkien's dislike appears to have only increased over the years, and in a 1964 letter he described Walt Disney as "simply a cheat" who was "hopelessly corrupted" by profit-making. While Tolkien's publisher did approach Disney with the idea of an adaptation, it's generally believed they did so without Tolkien's consent, and they were initially turned down. Walt Disney did briefly reconsider in the 1950s, but according to animator Wolfgang Reitherman his storyboard artists believed The Lord of the Rings was too complex, lengthy, and scary for a Disney production.

Animator Al Brodax reached out to Tolkien and his publishers to propose an animated adaptation in the 1950s, but nothing came of it. Shortly after, Tolkien began to coordinate with Forrest J. Ackerman and screenwriter Grady Zimmerman, and at first things looked hopeful. Tolkien was impressed by concept art from illustrator Ron Cobb, who scouted locations around California. Unfortunately the script proved a problem, with Tolkien penning a lengthy and frankly scathing response. Zimmerman's script is part of the Marquette University Tolkien Collection in Wisconsin, and it took phenomenal liberties with the books. Several character arcs were reduced, female characters, in particular, were cut to a minimum, and entire action sequences were added. Strangest of all, a very different ending saw Sam steal the One Ring from Frodo and take it to Mount Doom himself, only to be attacked at the final moment by both Sam and Gollum. Ackerman was ultimately unable to secure a producer, and the project floundered. Zimmerman, for his part, abandoned his dreams of writing a movie altogether.

In 1959, author Robert Gutwillig contacted Tolkien with the idea of creating a Lord of the Rings movie. Tolkien was initially receptive, noting he had "given a considerable amount of time and thought [to this], and have already some ideas concerning what I think would be desirable, and also some notion of the difficulties involved, especially in the inevitable compression." First talks were positive, with Tolkien impressed by Gutwillig's agent Sam W. Gelfman, but sadly nothing ever came of the idea.

Moving into the 1960s, Rembrandt Films successfully negotiated the rights to The Hobbit, and there are conflicting accounts as to whether or not they also acquired the rights to The Lord of the Rings. The company ultimately created an animated short of The Hobbit in order to prolong his ownership of the rights, and it was only ever shown once in a projection room at New York to a group pulled from the street. Somewhat unsurprisingly, they never got anywhere with making The Lord of the Rings.

The Beatles Stanley Kubrick Lord of the Rings

Enter the most unexpected idea of all; a musical version of The Lord of the Rings by Stanley Kubrick, starring The Beatles. The Fab Four were keen to obtain the film rights because they'd grown up loving Tolkien's books and liked the idea of starring in the fantasy adventure. They planned to write the soundtrack, and the project would have starred Paul McCartney as Frodo, Ringo Starr as Sam, George Harrison as Gandalf, and John Lennon as Gollum. Kubrick was The Beatles' first choice as director, and he turned down the idea, believing The Lord of the Rings was too vast and sprawling to successfully adapt. Tolkien himself rejected it when he was approached by his publisher.

In 1969, United Artists - who had acquired the rights to The Lord of the Rings without really knowing what to do with them - asked celebrated director John Boorman to produce The Lord of the Rings. This was envisioned as a single, three-hour-long film with an intermission, and Boorman initially accepted the task out of curiosity more than excitement. "If film-making for me is, as I have often said, exploration," he observed in his autobiography, "setting oneself impossible problems and failing to solve them, then the Rings saga qualifies on all counts." He worked with Rospo Pallenberg on a script that heavily adapted the books and included a sex scene between Frodo and Galadriel. Unfortunately, Boorman's The Lord of the Rings would have been too expensive a project, and in 1970 United Artists suffered a number of financial failures, meaning they didn't have the cash to be spare. "By the time we submitted it to United Artist, the executive who had espoused it had left the company," Boorman recalled. "No one else there had actually read the book. They were baffled by a script that, for most of them, was their first contact with Middle-Earth. I was shattered when they rejected it." The rights were sold on shortly afterward, leading to the first actual animated adaptations.

Peter Jackson first became involved with The Lord of the Rings in the '90s, when he first started work on an adaptation with Miramax. Harvey Weinstein was singularly unimpressed, convinced Jackson was wasting $12 million attempting to make a franchise when he should just be focused on a single two-hour movie. In fact, Weinstein reportedly threatened to have Jackson replaced with Quentin Tarantino if he refused to play ball. "Harvey was like, ‘you’re either doing this or you’re not. You’re out. And I got Quentin ready to direct it’," producer Ken Kamins explained in an interview in Ian Nathan's Anything You Can Imagine: Peter Jackson and the Making of Middle-Earth. Jackson apparently received a slimmed-down script that had cut Helm's Deep, the Balrog, and even Saruman. Weinstein ultimately agreed to let Peter Jackson take his script elsewhere; he found his way to New Line, and the rest is Lord of the Rings history.

Why The Predator Reboot Not Following The 2018 Movie Is The Best Decision

The Predator franchise may have made its smartest move in years by ridding itself of its baggage and starting over; Dan Trachtenberg's reboot has been announced as unattached to 2018's The Predator.

The Predator movies began as a fun hybrid of the horror and action genres, but steadily found a larger audience. Despite their relatively humble beginnings, the predators have become some of the most iconic monsters in cinema. Comic books and spin-offs have dug deeper into Predator’s Yautja mythology and, in more recent years, there’s been a concentrated effort to bring the movie franchise back with a vengeance.

Related: The Predator Almost Starred Benicio Del Toro - Why He Dropped Out

The last few movies in the Predator franchise have featured creative takes on Predator and attempted to tackle the property from fresh angles. These sequels aren’t without their merits, but they’ve highlighted a larger problem, which is a misunderstanding of what should be done with the Predator franchise. Shane Black’s The Predator from 2018 seemed like it would course correct the series, but only bogged down the future of Predator with its brash decisions and how it handled the titular creature. Yet another entry in the Predator franchise was announced in November 2020. The reboot is being helmed by 10 Cloverfield Lane's Dan Trachtenberg, and it’s already off to a good start due to how it’s ignoring 2018’s The Predator.

Details have been scarce on the upcoming Predator reboot, but there’s word that it’s starting over in a way that’s especially drastic: it may be turning the clock back to the American Civl War. There’s a lot of potential in a story that takes the hunting skills and ideology of the Yautja and juxtaposes it with themes and tensions surrounding the Civil War. This already gives the property more depth than it’s had in the past, helps it become more socially relevant, and finds a setting that’s so far back in time that it doesn’t necessarily disrupt the other movies in the series. This mature, freer approach to the property is practically the opposite of what’s done in 2018’s The Predator.

The Predator's use of a suburban setting is a nice change of pace, but it sets up a convoluted future for the franchise. Not only is there an upgraded Predator who fights against its own kind, but the film ends with the introduction of new “Predator Killer” armor that allows humans to basically become Iron Man in their fight against the Yautja. All of this is shaky territory to incorporate into a new sequel. Previous Predator sequels pride themselves in their connections to the rest of the universe; even the Alien vs. Predator crossover movies add more to the independent canon of these properties.

The Predator goes too far in this department, not just with the nods to previous movies, but how it tries to reinvent the mythology for a new series of sequels. In that way, it's too concerned with what’s ahead in potential sequels that it doesn’t put enough attention in simply making a good Predator movie. Trachtenberg’s approach looks to go back to the basics of Predator and get rid of anything extraneous. It’s a sequel that may have less Easter eggs and universe building than others, but it sounds like that’s exactly what Predator needs to reclaim its formerly terrifying glory.

Big Brother: What Bayleigh Dayton Has Been Up To Since All-Stars Ended

Now that Big Brother 22: All-Stars is over, Bayleigh Dayton is moving on from reality TV and has started to build her own multimedia empire. Prior to Big Brother, Bayleigh became the first-ever Black winner of the Miss Missouri pageant in 2016, kicking off her career as a model. A few years later, she was hand-picked by a talent scout from CBS to integrate the cast of Big Brother 20. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to get far on the show and went on to become the first jury member of the season. In any case, Bayleigh was a notable enough player to get cast on MTV's The Challenge and then return to play Big Brother one more time.

In 2020, Bayleigh Dayton was cast on the stellar Big Brother 22: All-Stars season. She was cast along with Tyler Crispen, with whom she had some drama on BB20, but they tried to keep things civil for the most part. And this time, she finally got to play alongside Da'Vonne Rogers, with whom she built a beautiful friendship on the show. Even though Bayleigh's time was cut short on BB22, she still has a solid reputation with the fandom and a strong following on social media. Now, it seems like Bayleigh is ready to take over the world with all the content that she's planning to release in 2020 and beyond.

Related: Big Brother: What Daniele Donato Has Been Up To Since All-Stars Ended

At the moment, Bayleigh Dayton is leaving Big Brother: All-Stars and reality TV competitions behind. She has talked about wanting to do docu-series-like projects where her life with husband Swaggy C can be documented, but she appears to be done with competitive shows. But Bayleigh isn't sitting around waiting for projects to drop from the sky. She has just launched a new YouTube series, Bayleigh's World, which can be watched below. As if that wasn't enough, Bayleigh is also launching a separate online series of interviews, which she's calling The Penthouse. The first episode of that series can also be watched below, and it features Love Island USA winner Justine Ndiba.

It's very clear that Bayleigh is working hard post-Big Brother 22, and she's fully taking the control of her own narrative, brand, and image. With such a great work ethic and charismatic personality, it wouldn't be shocking to see Bayleigh Dayton creating her very own multimedia empire in the coming months and years, and Bayleigh's World and The Penthouse are just the roots to that dream.

The Big Brother 22: All-Stars fans that love Bayleigh can go follow her on Instagram and on her YouTube channel. She is putting out a lot of content recently, so it's a great time to join in.

90 Day Fiancé: Why Did Yazan Wait So Long Before Getting A Translator?

Why did Yazan Abu Hurira from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way decide to wait so long and cause damage to his relationship before getting a translator? Fans were finally able to see Yazan and girlfriend Brittany Banks communicate properly, but only after they reached out for an interpreter.

To say the TLC couple have not been getting along would be an understatement. Both have played a part in their failing relationship, thanks to Brittany not caring about Jordanian culture and Yazan not being truthful about the dangers of her apathy from the beginning. Currently, fans are watching as Yazan realizes he may have given up everything for a chance with the American, who doesn’t seem to care as much about the relationship as he does.

Thankfully, the duo finally made a good choice in hiring a translator to effectively communicate. After months of not being able to see eye to eye, the interpreter's arrival led to breakthroughs that otherwise would never have come for the couple. But fans would like to know what took them so long to take this necessary step? The translator did what fans hoped he would do: He created some magic and mutual understanding between the two TLC personalities. Up until that point, the Florida native could not seem to wrap her head around the struggles Yazan was up against with his family, as she continued to flash her cleavage and post on Instagram. After understanding the true danger of the situation, Brittany told Yazan she didn’t know if she was willing to live her life that way.

But while the couple finally came to an understanding, fans were beside themselves. They couldn't help but think about how many altercations could have been avoided if Yazan had just found a translator to meet Brittany at the airport when she first arrived in Jordan. There would have been no screaming in the car or future in-laws jumping down Brittany's throat while she sat silently in confusion. In just a few short conversations, Brittany was able to understand the seriousness of the situation, and the fact that Yazan's life could truly be at risk.

While the TV show may come across as scripted at times, this relationship was not one to play around with. Choosing Brittany for a wife could have severe repercussions for the young Jordan native – ones he can never recover from. Fans hope the two make the right decision and stop jeopardizing both of their lives for a romance that doesn't work well anyway.

DCEU: Why Joker’s New Sidekick Should Be Brought Into The Film Universe

Given just how far away Harley Quinn has gone from being the Joker's DCEU sidekick since Suicide Squad, the franchise has the perfect opportunity to replace her with his new comic sidekick, Punchline. Given David Ayer's original vision for the Harley/Joker dynamic was never realized in the final theatrical cut (despite positive fan reaction when those plans came to light) and the return of Jared Leto's Joker to Justice League, the motive and opportunity are both there.

Punchline entered into the world of DC comics in April 2020, and for all intents and purposes served as the new Harley Quinn; an aid to the Joker who shared his penchant for clown makeup and for trying to defeat the Batman. While not everyone was excited to see this character - partially as those who thought her first entry into the world would make them a quick buck bought up every comic she was featured in fast - she has served a very clever purpose. Joker hasn't really had a proper sidekick since Harley stopped being at his beck and call, and the Clown Prince of Crime often needs another major character by his side to balance everything out a little, even if this is just to let him monologue to someone the audience recognizes.

Related: Joker & Birds of Prey Both Reference The Same Batman Location

After Birds Of PreyMargot Robbie's Harley Quinn currently has a slightly precarious future in the DCEU, and Punchline could help fix this. Harley is caught between two iterations of herself - the version seen in Suicide Squad who appears to still have some affection for her clown counterpart, and the version seen in Birds of Prey, who had clearly broken up with the Joker and wanted nothing to do with him. It wasn't clear whether she'd continue on this trail of learning to stand on her own two feet like in the current comics, or if she'd once more return into her abusive relationship with DC's biggest villain in order to justify giving the Joker more screen time. Adding Punchline to the mix could offer a resolution, assuming Harley Quinn sticks around and the Joker returns to the DCEU. Crucially, those who wanted to see a devilish clown duo together could be satisfied, and Harley could still remain free to continue with film endeavors that no longer involve Joker, like a sequel to Birds of Prey or her own solo outing.

Such a decision would actually have another benefit as it would potentially give Punchline a little more character, too, as due to her fairly recent creation in the DC comics, she doesn't have the same kind of detail behind her that many other DC characters can boast. Given that Harley herself became a DC staple due to her appearance on Batman: The Animated Series, allowing her sidekick successor a similar chance on screen to become as beloved by fans seems pleasingly fitting.

Most importantly, the introduction of Punchline would prevent one of the biggest repeated pitfalls of Harley's DC comics' history, when it comes to the Joker. Instead of Harley going back to the Joker every time various writers wanted to put the two together for a scene, she would be given freer rein and allowed to develop further independently of her former partner-in-crime. And as long as both characters remain active - or at least possibly active - in the DCEU, there's potential for them to be drawn back together, which would be a disservice to Harley. The DCEU had a rocky start, including how Suicide Squad dealt with Harley Quinn and Joker's relationship, but seeing future films fix one of the biggest issues related to them - and not just as a cathartic cleanse as in Bird of Prey - would feel like the franchise was fully aware of its failings. Introducing Punchline could offer that ready-made solution.

Couples Retreat Lawsuit Alleges Vince Vaughn Tried To Downplay Poster Issue

Actor Faizon Love's ongoing Couples Retreat lawsuit alleges his co-star Vince Vaughn tried to dissuade him from speaking out about the movie's whitewashed poster. The 2009 comedy follows four couples as they embark on a tropical vacation, only to find themselves in the middle of couples' counseling. In addition to Love and Vaughn, Couples Retreat starred Malin Ackerman, Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, Jon Favreau, Kristin Davis, and Kali Hawk. Though Couples Retreat failed to impress critics, it became a hit at the box office, particularly in international markets. However, recent days have cast an unfavorable light over Couples Retreat as its whitewashed poster gets new attention.

Days ago, Love sued Universal over Couples Retreat's international poster, which saw Love and his love interest Hawk removed from the cast. While the domestic poster showcased all four main couples, Love and Hawk were the only two cast members erased from Couples Retreat's international promotion. As Love and Hawk were also the movie's only couple of color, it was very clearly an example of Hollywood whitewashing. At the time of Couples Retreat's release, Love opted to not pursue legal action because Universal told him they would cease using the racist poster and would find new opportunities for him. However, as that never came to pass, Love is now mounting a lawsuit against the studio.

Related: Wedding Crashers 2 Talks Confirmed By Vince Vaughn

In the 45-page suit filed in the Los Angeles Supreme Court (via Deadline), Love alleges Vaughn got involved with those initial talks at Universal and tried to downplay the incident. Adam Fogelson, Universal's Chairman at the time, and Vaughn both committed to putting Love in a new project, which ultimately never came to pass. Additionally, Vaughn allegedly told Love that pursuing the matter about the poster would likely harm his career. The full statement reads:

In fact, Vaughn joined that phone call, and he and Fogelson discussed new potential projects for Mr. Love during the call. The two committed to putting Mr. Love on a TV show with Vaughn. Stuber also guaranteed Mr. Love he would be cast in future productions of films he produced for Universal Studios, if he did not pursue the issue publicly or legally regarding his removal from the one sheet for the movie. Vaughn apparently went so far as to tell Mr. Love that making a big deal about his removal from the poster would not be good for his career at that time, a statement to which Fogelson did not object.

Even before this additional piece came to light, there was little doubt that Universal was in the wrong for whitewashing and continuing to use such a blatantly racist Couples Retreat poster. However, it does not help that, as Love states, the studio had promised to aid Love in the future and did not. Vaughn's involvement is especially tricky. One could argue the actor was merely trying to look out for Love, but if he truly supported Love, Vaughn should've helped him instead of hindering him. There's no saying what would've happened if Vaughn had backed Love, but there's a good chance Love would've seen a far better result.

As Love has just issued this suit, it remains to be seen what will happen. Right now, it looks like Love has the evidence on his side, but it's all in the hands of the court. Hopefully, Love will get the resolution he hopes for, as this matter has seemingly caused him much frustration. Love was a key member of the Couples Retreat ensemble, and he deserves to be treated as such going forward.

MCU: How Kate Mara's Iron Man 2 Character Could Return

Kate Mara had a brief role in 2010's Iron Man 2, but that doesn't mean she has to be finished with the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever. The franchise's third installment followed Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) struggling with his Iron Man responsibilities as he faced multiple villains like Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) and Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke). Iron Man served as one of the key leaders in the fictional universe up until his heroic death in 2019's Avengers: Endgame. The MCU will soon begin Phase 4, which will consist of more feature films as well as TV series.

Mara portrayed the role of a U.S. Marshal in her first and only MCU appearance. The unnamed figure was the one who served Tony a subpoena after waiting outside of his car at the Stark Expo. Since Tony refused to take the envelope, Happy Hogan was forced to do so. At the time of the cameo, Mara was already an established actress, appearing in a few dozen film and TV roles. Though she appeared in Brokeback Mountain, We Are Marshall, and Shooter prior to her MCU debut, her more notable roles came right after. Aside from appearing in American Horror Story's debut season, Mara has notably worked on House of Cards, Pose, The Martian, and Chappaquiddick.

Related: Every Marvel Phase 1 Character Confirmed For MCU Phase 4

Although Mara's time in the MCU was short-lived, the actress did get another chance in portraying a popular Marvel Comics character for live-action. In 2015, Mara played Sue Storm/Invisible Woman in Josh Trank's Fantastic Four remake. The film was panned by critics and viewers alike, but that shouldn't be the reason Mara never makes a return to the MCU. In fact, Mara believed she had a bigger future in the MCU when she initially signed on for Iron Man 2. While reprising her role as Sue Storm is probably out of the question when the MCU eventually incorporates the Fantastic Four, there are ways her Iron Man 2 character could come back into the fold.

When Mara was cast in Iron Man 2, there was a rumor that she would be playing Bethany Cabe, a classic Marvel Comics character who spent time under the moniker of Iron Woman and War Machine. Beth, as she was also known, was highly skilled in firearms and hand-to-hand combat, and she also worked as a security guard. The actor was also briefly Tony's girlfriend when he had a run-in with Justin Hammer in the comics. Based on her background, Mara's mysterious character seemed like a perfect fit to eventually emerge as the MCU's Iron Woman. Just because so much time has passed, it doesn't mean she can't return to the franchise for that exact purpose. With Tony dead, the universe will be lacking an Iron Man-like figure, so why not introduced another member of the Iron Legion in Bethany Cabe?

Based on Beth's fighting capabilities and security background, the character would greatly fit into Disney+'s Nick Fury show that's in the works. Seeing as Mara played a U.S. Marshal, it would be plausible to learn that Fury brought her into the mix, especially if she turned out to be the real Bethany Cabe. Appearing in a TV series might be the better move to give someone like Mara more time to evolve her MCU character. Either way, Mara's continued prominence in the entertainment industry proves that she's highly capable of taking on another superhero role. She certainly deserves another chance, and it would be a fun callback to Iron Man 2.

Two Major Destiny 2 Characters Are Gay & In Love (& Always Have Been)

Osiris/Saint-14 shippers, rejoice - Bungie has officially confirmed that the Destiny 2 characters are gay and in a romantic relationship, and they always have been. After years of speculation and debate amongst the Destiny community, a narrative designer at Bungie has confirmed that The Phoenix and The Pigeon are, in fact, building a beautiful nest together.

Speculation about Osiris and Saint-14's relationship has been ongoing since Destiny 2 launched in September 2017, with no comment from Bungie about whether or not the two were flocking together. The Titan and the Warlock enjoyed a close, ongoing partnership littered with moments of restrained tenderness that had fans wondering whether their relationship was brotherly or romantic. A question mark remained over their interactions, and the nature of their relationship was hotly debated on Bungie's Destiny 2 forums - until a tweet from the game's narrative designer settled the argument once and for all.

Related: Destiny 2 Players Get Free Exotic Gear All Year With Prime Gaming

Robert Brookes, the Bungie narrative designer in question, revealed in a Twitter thread that Saint-14 and Osiris are, in fact gay and have always been written as gay, even before Brookes began work with Bungie. While he had always perceived the characters as gay before his employment, his speculation was confirmed as correct when he joined the Destiny 2 team. Brookes elaborated in his thread that he felt nuance was "lost in an age of queerbaiting," and that the relationship should not be a point of debate or speculation amongst the fanbase, but a declared fact. So he declared it:

This bit of lore will undoubtedly ruffle some feathers in the Destiny 2 community, but, more importantly, it'll be regarded as a milestone in the queer gaming community, where canonical LGBTQ+ representation is still sparse. And sure, Destiny has had same-sex relationships and queer characters before, but none quite so high-profile or impactful as Saint-14 and Osiris. Brooke's Twitter thread delves further into his experiences as a queer man and why he feels representation in a game as popular as Destiny 2 matters to him and the rest of the LGBTQ+ community, and it's worth reading and sharing.

The Bungie forums have already responded to the news in fervor, with some less tolerant gamers expressing their displeasure, which is hardly surprising considering the gaming community has historically been less than accepting. But another sign of the changing tides of queer representation is that those players are in the minority, whereas the remainder of the community expressed joy and happiness that love has won, a promising sign for LGTBQ+ representation and acceptance in the future. And with Destiny 2 coming to Game Pass, Osiris and Saint-14's relationship can be appreciated by an even wider audience.

The Batman Villain Who Was Originally Supposed To Be Robin

During Batman's more than 80-year run headlining the pages of DC Comics, he's almost always had Robin by side. However, one villain introduced in the late-80s was originally intended to eventually take on the mantle of the Boy Wonder but never did, as writer Alan Grant wanted to see his creation Anarky become the next sidekick to the Caped Crusader.

Robin first appeared in the pages of DC Comics in Detective Comics #38, just under a year after Batman debuted in the same series. The original Robin was Dick Grayson, who would later take the role of Nightwing after transitioning from sidekick to hero. There have been many characters who have taken over as Robin since, including Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Carrie Kelley, Stephanie Brown and Damian Wayne. But, before Drake appeared in the comics, Batman writer Alan Grant was hopeful his creation, Lonnie Machlin, aka Anarky, would join Batman's adventures as Robin.

Related: Batman Has A Plan To Take Out Each Justice League Member

Grant wrote multiple runs on Batman including Batman: Shadow of the Bat and Detective Comics in the late-89s, as he co-created a number of villains including Anarky, Victor Zsasz, Ratcatcher, and the Ventriloquist. Anarky, as his name suggests, was an anarchist, who, despite being a kid, was an expert hacker and fighter who would often use his intelligence to take on his opponents. He wasn't afraid to use violence to take down greedy CEOs and other people in power. Batman actually showed admiration for his work. His story would have worked well as a potential Robin who was learning how to use his skills the right way, but alas, Anarky never became Robin, despite Grant's wishes.

In a 2011 interview with DC Leaguers, Grant admitted that he hoped Anarky would eventually evolve into the new Robin - but that legends Denny O'Neil and Marv Wolfman beat him to the punch by creating Tim Drake.

I had originally hoped, when I wrote the first Anarky story, that Anarky would eventually end up as the new Robin. But, unknown to me,  Denny was already working in secret with Marv Wolfman to create Tim Drake. When Norm and I stopped working on Batman, we tried to buy back the rights to Anarky, we loved him that much. But the DC Vice-President to  whom we pitched this idea just laughed and said “That’s not the way we do things at DC.”

Anarky might not have become Robin or be a household name, but he became a popular pseudo-antihero, with the character appearing in the animated film Beware of Batman and in the Batman: Arkham Origins video game. Alexander Calvert portrayed Lonnie in the ArrowverseIt's too bad Anarky never got his shot as Robin, as he could be a completely redeemable villain who's actions of taking down greed and corporations (albeit in violent ways) is extremely relevant today. It would be fun to see DC revisit the character in a Black Label series or in an Elseworlds book and finally give Anarky a shot at being Robin - it seems like such a good fit, that it's a shame it never actually happened.

Magistrate Explained: How The Mandalorian Villain Connects To Thrawn

The Mandalorian season 2, episode 5, "The Jedi" introduces the Magistrate - a.k.a. Morgan Elsbeth - and confirms a connection to Grand Admiral Thrawn. Here's what we know about her past and her ties to the major Star Wars villain. Ahsoka Tano finally made her live-action debut in the most recent episode of The Mandalorian, which immediately set up her conflict with the Magistrate in the city of Calodan on the first moon of Corvus. The ominous figure has information that Ahsoka wants, and it isn't until the end of their climactic fight that the show reveals what it is.

Prior to the showdown between Ahsoka's two white lightsabers and Magistrate's beskar staff, the former Jedi explained what she knew about the Magistrate to Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal). Her real name is Morgan Elsbeth, and she comes from a civilization that was massacred during the Clone Wars. This drove Morgan to help build the Imperial Navy by conquering worlds and taking their natural resources, and this led her to her command over Calodan. But Ahsoka isn't interested in the Magistrate because of her unlawful rule, but rather because of the information she possesses about her master.

Related: The Mandalorian: How Beskar Is Strong Enough To Stop Lightsabers

The Mandalorian season 2, episode 5 reveals Morgan's master is none other than Grand Admiral Thrawn. Although the episode doesn't spell out exactly how close they are, there are a few hints of their connection. The most obvious tie between the Magistrate and Thrawn is the Imperial Navy. Thrawn's meteoric rise through the Imperial ranks led him to assume command of the Seventh Fleet and achieve the title of Grand Admiral. Presumably, Thrawn and Morgan Elsbeth could have crossed paths through the Imperial Navy, with Morgan potentially becoming a pawn in Thrawn's larger schemes.

The episode also includes a subtle reference to Thrawn that proves Morgan is closely tied to the Grand Admiral. She uses HK-87 droids throughout the episode to fight Ahsoka and Din, and while these droids make another Legends idea canon, they are also shown in The Mandalorian with some Thrawn branding. The HK-87 droids have the insignia of the Seventh Fleet painted on the side of their face. This highlights just how closely aligned the Magistrate is to Thrawn, if she is using droids with his personal markings on them. It could even indicate that Morgan was part of the Seventh Fleet for a time.

With the Magistrate's close connection to Thrawn, The Mandalorian's decision to not show what she did when confronted by Ahsoka is curious. Ahsoka had a lightsaber at her throat and said she wouldn't give Morgan a choice to not give up the information she sought. But, it isn't clear if the Magistrate did tell Ahsoka where Thrawn is located. Not only is the Magistrate's fate left up in the air, but so too is the future of Thrawn. It would seem unlikely that he'll appear by the end of The Mandalorian season 2, but he could return in season 3 or a possible Ahsoka spinoff. Either option could bring more details about how the Magistrate and Thrawn are connected.

Big Brother: What Daniele Donato Has Been Up To Since All-Stars Ended

Daniele Donato Briones has been mostly silent since she left the jury house on Big Brother 22: All-Stars, but she is slowly making a comeback on social media. The fans fell in love with Dani Donato on Big Brother 8, when she was forced to play with what she considered her worst enemy: her estranged father Dick Donato, otherwise known as Evel Dick. Despite their many differences in personalities and the very murky story behind their fallout, Dani and Dick did make a great team on Big Brother and, together, got to the grand finale.

When the producers decided to introduce the "Dynamic Duos" twist to Big Brother 13, Daniele Donato and Evel Dick were one of the three pairs of returning players that got cast in the season. However, due to urgent and unforeseen medical reasons, Dick Donato had to suddenly leave the show in week 1. It was clear that Dani still didn't have a good relationship with her father on BB13, but she was obviously worried about what serious thing had happened for him to leave his favorite TV show all of a sudden. Years later, on Big Brother 22, Daniele finally got a shot at playing this game by herself.

Related: Big Brother 22: Company Sends Enzo Palumbo A Free Bidet

At the start of Big Brother: All-Stars, the fans were extremely excited to watch Daniele Donato Briones playing again. But she quickly aligned herself with the Committee alliance, and it's no secret that the fans have a hard time rooting for houseguests that take part in extremely dominant alliances. Given that the Committee (plus Enzo Palumbo) won every single Head of Household competition and all but two Power of Veto competitions during the season, it's not surprising that the fans were slightly turned off by Dani's association with that group of people. Ever since she left BB22, it seems like Daniele took some time to process all the positive and negative messages that she received from the fans. She went completely M.I.A. on her social media profiles. Dani's husband and BB13 co-star Dominic Briones also chose to respect her space and didn't share any pictures of her for some time. However, as of late, Dani Donato is slowly making a comeback. As seen below, Dani recently posted adorable pictures of her daughter, Tennessee, on Instagram. She has also shared a lengthy statement on Twitter where she apologized to Ian Terry and addressed other microaggressions.

Otherwise, Big Brother legend Dani Donato has shared certain beauty tips on her Instagram Stories. She has also posted occasional photos of Dominic and Tennessee. But there's a sense that Dani is still decompressing from the wild Big Brother 22 rollercoaster, and it's probably for the best that she isn't rushing to jump on Instagram Lives and podcast interviews and Twitter interactions while she's still figuring out what she did and said, and how she can move forward from it all.

It's hard to ignore the love that the Big Brother 22: All-Stars fans have for Daniele Donato, even if she makes certain mistakes and got involved with an unlikeable alliance. All things considered, Dani is a true BB legend who'll always be remembered by the diehard fans.

Baby Yoda's Backstory Makes Eating Frog Lady Eggs Awful Again

The Mandalorian's season 2 episode, "The Jedi" makes the moment when Baby Yoda eats the Frog Lady's eggs awful once again. The episode, which introduced Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Tano and became an instant high-point for the Disney+ Star Wars series, revealed the most information so far on who the Child really is and what led him to the Empire captivity Din Djarin saved him from.

"The Jedi" confirms that Baby Yoda is in fact called Grogu and that his backstory is far more complex than even the previous episode had established. "The Siege" had revealed that Baby Yoda was key to Moff Gideon's plans to rear clones, presumably with Force powers, and hinted that the Child had already endured some level of experimentation before his rescue. That traumatic past was added to even further in "The Jedi" with the revelation that Grogu survived Order 66's Jedi purge thanks to some mysterious assistant(s) who hid him and ferried him to safety. Though the backstory was sparse and related only through Ahsoka, it did fill in some intriguing gaps and posed even more questions about who Din Djarin's companion is, could have been, and could yet become.

Related: The Mandalorian: Baby Yoda's REAL Name & Backstory Explained

The most intriguing detail Ahsoka revealed was that Baby Yoda's powers were not the raw result of his innate Force powers as had been variously speculated. In fact, Grogu had been trained by several different Jedi masters on Coruscant before the events at the end of the Clone Wars led to his enforced hiding. Ahsoka then added that his memory at that point grew dark and that the overriding feeling was of being alone, which is, of course, heartbreaking considering what would happen later with Gideon's experiments. That trauma can account for the fear and anger that Ahsoka sees within him, but his Jedi training should have ingrained in the Child a level of moral integrity that makes his decision to eat the precious eggs all the more troubling.

The major arguments for the defense of Baby Yoda's behavior in taking the Frog Lady's invaluable clutch of eggs for a snack (several times) come down to either the fact that he is an instinctual creature acting on genetic impulses or that he is an infant doing largely the same thing. But "The Jedi" changes the perception of Baby Yoda and establishes that at least some of his most childish behavior - his wilfulness, stubbornness, and impulsive reactions can be pinned as an emotional response to his trauma. His interactions with Ahsoka Tano reveal a level of understanding beyond what would be accepted of a child merely acting out.

Ahsoka's revelation of Grogu's tragic backstory suggests instead that the Child ignored the lessons he was taught on Coruscant as one of the younglings brought there as an infant. It seems unlikely that he would have graduated to the stage of lightsaber training (though it remains excitingly possible), but younglings were still taught in the Jedi arts from a very early age. The idea that the Child is somehow absolved of any moral pause for thought or guided solely by unrefined instinct does not fit with the new chapters of his backstory revealed in the second season of The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda's egg-eating antics again become a little more difficult to swallow.

The X-Men Just Stole A Hilarious Kingsman Moment | Screen Rant

Warning: spoilers for X-Force #14 and Kingsman: The Secret Service!

Marvel’s X of Swords storyline sees the X-Men competing in a number of strange challenges, one of which looks like a scene straight out of Kingsman: The Secret Service, though with a much darker ending. Krakoa’s mutants are fighting to protect their home in a tournament against the swordbearers of Arakko. While some of the matches throughout the tournament have been epic sword fights, others have been a bit more… obscure. From a spelling bee, to a dance off, to a marriage between two opponents, the tournament has been all over the map. Luckily, the broad array of competitions has left some room for laughs along the way.

2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, directed by Matthew Vaughn, tells the story of a young man called “Eggsy” (played by Taron Egerton) who is recruited into a British spy organization’s training program. The action comedy is filled with memorable moments that fans can easily recall after just one viewing. The infamous church scene takes the cake as the film’s most iconic moment (for good reason), but another one that viewers are sure to remember is the moment when Eggsy is kicked out of the program. For the protagonist’s final test, he is given a gun and told to shoot the dog that he was given early in his training. Eggsy points the weapon at his canine friend, JB, but is unable to pull the trigger. His desire to join the Kinsman is strong, but not strong enough to kill his own dog.

Related: One X-Men's X of Swords Rematch Is Just as Weird As Her First Test

X-Force #14 by Benjamin Percy, Gerry Duggan, and Joshua Cassara contains a similar challenge during the X of Swords tournament. As the book goes on, more strange contests take place and the points continue to fall in Arakko’s favor. One such contest pits Brian Braddock, aka Captain Avalon, against War. As the opponents stand side-by-side, a small, black kitten sits in front of them. War asks what they are supposed to do to win the match and a bearded man in a hooded cloak simply instructs them to “kill the kitten.” Shocked by the man’s words, Captain Avalon turns to War and utters, “You wouldn’t…” but is immediately interrupted as War lunges toward the helpless creature. The final panel of the match shows Braddock desperately trying to hold his rival back, but readers can draw a fairly clear conclusion about what happens next, as the scoreboard shows Arakko gaining another point.

Eggsy and Captain Avalon’s hesitation in these situations provides a bit of insight into who they are as people. Eggsy is determined to join the Kingsman, but he is not willing to take the innocent life of his dog to accomplish this goal. Similarly, Captain Avalon is trying his best to help his teammates defeat Arakko’s champions, but taking the life of an innocent kitten is a line he refuses to cross. Ultimately, the two share an appreciation for the sanctity of innocent creatures’ lives and each of them would sooner look for an alternate way of accomplishing their goals than resort to killing a defenseless animal.

Sadly, while Kingsmen has a hilarious payoff in revealing Eggsy's gun was never loaded and he quit the organization for nothing, X of Swords suggests a darker resolution to this challenge.
