Fans On Twitter Demand Ayer Cut Of Suicide Squad – Here Are The Best Tweets And Memes

After the huge success of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which was primarily thrown into production due to pressure from fans, audiences are back on Twitter and are again demanding the world of Warner Bros. There are loads of movies that deserve the Snyder Cut treatment, but more than anything else, fans want an “Ayer cut” of Suicide Squad, which was directed by David Ayer. And if there’s any movie that needs it, fans feel it’s Suicide Squad.

RELATED: The Suicide Squad: 5 Heroes Sylvester Stallone Could Be Playing (& 5 Villains)

With a troubled production, studio interference, and so much unused footage, fans have stormed Twitter with #ReleaseTheAyerCut, which has now gotten millions of tweets. Though the upcoming sequel/soft reboot The Suicide Squad looks great and is one of the most anticipated movies of 2021, it clearly isn’t enough.

10 The Ayer Cut Exists?

Though it’s a long shot, by Warner Bros. telling fans that they won’t release an Ayer cut of Suicide Squad, they have inadvertently also told fans that the cut does actually seem to exist. But it could also just mean that Warner Bros. has to work on their wording when they make announcements.

There’s so much footage fans haven’t seen, and while Suicide Squad might not be one of Margot Robbie’s best films, it’s one of her best roles, as she brought the character of Harley Quinn to life. And if there’s any possibility of seeing more of the character in unseen footage from the first movie, Warner Bros. can bet their bottom dollar that every Twitter user will read into their comments and put a positive spin on it in any way they can.

9 Batman Buys Warner Bros.

It’s actually extremely unlikely that Warner Bros. does have an Ayer cut that they are just keeping it locked in a vault. But if that was ever the case, this meta-joke puts it perfectly. The joke references Zack Snyder's Justice League and a line that comes near the end.

RELATED: Harley Quinn: 10 Love Interests She Could Have In The DCEU (Who Aren't Joker)

When Clark Kent questions how Bruce Wayne was able to acquire his family farm from the bank, Bruce has a perfectly in-character response. He says that he simply went out and bought the bank. It pays to be Batman.

8 Not Impressed

One of the most striking changes to the Justice League in Zack Snyder’s edit is when Superman saves Cyborg’s life, as he stands in front of Steppenwolf when he tries slashing Cyborg with his giant axe. The axe lands on Superman’s shoulder like how a pillow would hit a brick.

It’s a cool moment, and Superman tells Steppenwolf that he’s not impressed, but it has quickly become somewhat of a meme. This time around, it has been expertly used by a fan to show their feelings towards Warner Bros.’ decision to not work on an Ayer cut and end the SnyderVerse.

7 Leaking The Ayer Cut

Tweeting at the director of the movie himself, one Twitter user hilariously tries urging him to leave a USB with his cut installed on it in a public bathroom, insinuating that someone would find it and leak it to the world. The tweet is also attached to an incredible fan-made movie poster for the Ayer cut.

If the cut actually existed, it wouldn’t be the first time creators have leaked things themselves. Ryan Reynolds leaked test footage of Deadpool while it was in development hell so fans would put pressure on 20th Century Fox, and John Boyega accidentally left a screenplay of Rise of the Skywalker in a hotel room only for a cleaner to find.

6 Forming An Alliance

David Ayer is actually extremely active on Twitter, and though he won’t comment too much on all of the fans’ demands, he’s humble enough to give respect where it’s due, as he praised the newly released trailer for the upcoming The Suicide Squad.

As James Gunn, the director of the new movie, is also active on Twitter, he was quick to show how much he appreciates Ayer’s work too. And it’s incredible to see the mutual appreciation in the middle of tons of toxic demands and fights between studios and fans.

5 Suicide Squad Or THE Suicide Squad

Given the fact that the first Suicide Squad was heavily-panned for several reasons, it isn’t exactly the movie that people gravitate towards when looking for something to watch.

RELATED: DCEU: 10 Cheesiest Scenes From The Series, Ranked

But given that The Suicide Squad is looking like a soft reboot of the first movie, reboots aren’t exactly something fans are excited for in the future of the DCEU. So to some DCEU fans, Suicide Squad is looking pretty good right now. But credit where credit is due, the trailer for The Suicide Squad hits every beat perfectly, and the new characters seem hilarious.

4 Produced By The Snyders

One hawk-eyed fan was quick to find a piece of information that begs the question, “How deep does the rabbit hole go?” In the credits at the bottom of the poster, it shows that The Suicide Squad was executive produced by Zack and Deborah Snyder.

With the former obviously having just released “The Snyder Cut,” which wouldn’t have happened without the support of the fans, it raises suspicions over whose side Snyder is on and whether or not he supports the campaign for the Ayer cut.

3 Studio Interference

Older articles are getting unearthed surrounding the production of Suicide Squad and all of the studio interference. Ayer has stated himself that the studio was making overruling and haphazard decisions during production due to the backlash of Batman v. Superman and the popularity of Deadpool, which is what led to the messy final product.

Studio interference is one of the biggest reasons why fans wanted The Snyder Cut, as 60% of the original movie wasn’t even shot by the original director, and it’s the biggest reason why fans now want an Ayer cut.

2 Fans’ Thought Process

With the two options being “if it’s meant to be, it will be,” and “if you want it, go and get it,” there are no prizes for guessing which route the fans went. The fans are trying to go out and get the Ayer cut by hounding anyone and everyone affiliated with Suicide Squad to #ReleaseTheAyerCut.

However, it isn’t just the fans’ thought process either, but it’s advice that fans are now trying to give David Ayer, as this account literally tweeted the director the quote.

1 All The Deleted Scenes

There have been rumblings of all the unseen bonus footage of Suicide Squad for years, ever since the movie was released. There are apparently tons of unused material of the Joker that’s just lying on the cutting room floor, and most people know this because Jared Leto hasn’t hidden his feelings about it.

Leto’s gangster-like portrayal of the character is memorable whether you were a fan of it or not. The above screenshots hint at a truly disturbing scene that could be incredible. However, Zack Snyder’s Justice League does feature a lengthy appearance from the character at the end, which almost redeems the character’s portrayal in Suicide Squad.

New Girl: 10 Times Nick Was The Most Relatable Character

There's no denying that Nick Miller is a bit of a mess. For the first few seasons of New Girl, he appears to have no real path in life and obstacle after obstacle blocks him from being truly happy. That doesn't stop him from having a good time with his friends and, somehow, managing to grow up over the course of the show's seven seasons.

RELATED: New Girl: 10 Funniest Nick Miller Quotes, Ranked

Nick's struggles, though their depiction can be over the top at times, are part of what makes him so relatable to the audience. He has a hard time dealing with his feelings, wants people to respect his privacy, and just doesn't get his best friends' choices sometimes.

10 Nick Can't Decide If Jess Should Move In

In the very first episode of the series, Schmidt and Coach make Nick their tie-breaker. While Coach is against having a female roommate, Schmidt wants Jess to move in immediately. Nick tries to weigh the pros and cons of the situation, but he just can't make a decision. It's obvious he likes Jess, but he's also very antagonistic toward her in the pilot, showing the two conflicting sides of his decision-making process.

Hasn't everyone frozen at one point or another when trying to make an important decision? Or when being put on the spot by their friends? It's easy to become overwhelmed in the face of too many options or too much information. Nick hides in his sweatshirt to avoid the responsibility, though plenty of members of the audience have likely found other ways to avoid similar responsibilities.

9 He Back Slides To Caroline (Twice)

There's always that one person that people just can't let go of. It might be a relative, a friend, or an ex-partner. That person isn't good for you, but it's too hard to let them go. For Nick, that person is Caroline.

He spends years in a relationship with her in which they were clearly both unhappy. Whenever she gives him hope of reconciliation, however, he's right back at her side. Nick spends time with her at a friend's wedding, thinking they're getting back together, despite initially asking Jess to keep him away from her. He also decides to move in with her simply because both of them don't want to start over in the dating scene. While, ultimately, Nick is able to move on, his tendency to want that familiar relationship in his life in spite of the pain is understandable.

8 Nick Struggles With Body Image Issues

In the first season of the series, it's made very clear that Nick isn't entirely comfortable with his body. He gets very self-conscious when Schmidt or Jess make comments about his weight or joke about his appearance.

When Jess laughs at him (not intentionally) when walking in on him naked, it gets in Nick's head, and he no longer feels comfortable even taking his shirt off. Even people who are the happiest with their body can admit to being insecure at one point or another, so this might actually be one of Nick's most relatable traits early in the series.

7 He Gets Writer's Block

Not everyone is a writer, but everyone can relate to struggling to get a big task completed. Nick decides that he wants to really write a novel after giving Winston his "finished" story Z Is For Zombie.

RELATED: New Girl: 10 Ways Nick And Cece Are The Same Person

He spends a lot of time staring at the computer and trying to get himself to focus. This isn't unlike students who wait until the last minute to do an essay or adults that wait until just before a project is due at their place of employment to finish it. Focusing on the task at hand, especially today when there's a world of information at everyone's fingertips thanks to the internet, is a little bit harder.

6 Nick Can't Write His Dad's Eulogy

Though Nick has no problem letting people know when he's angry, he does struggle with some of his other emotions. Grief is one of them. When his father dies unexpectedly in the second season, Nick is the one tasked with planning the funeral. He tries to take care of everything, but he can't bring himself to write his father's eulogy. Instead, Nick asks Jess to do it.

Though she tells him she can't, when the pressure becomes too much for Nick, Jess does perform as Elvis Presley at the service. It's a moment that solidifies their friendship, but it also demonstrates that sometimes, people need time to process how they're feeling.

5 He Gets Frustrated With Schmidt

Schmidt walking into Nick's dorm room might be one of the best things that ever happened to him. He and Schmidt are like brothers by the time New Girl's story begins. They love one another, but that doesn't mean they always get along.

It's perfectly normal for the two of them to disagree. Considering how fundamentally different they are (Schmidt is a planner, Nick is not, for example), it's amazing that they don't fight even more. Nick getting frustrated because he doesn't understand his buddy (and vice versa) is easy for the audience to understand.

4 Nick Thinks Julia And Reagan Are Too Good For Him

When Nick gets in his head about relationships, he tends to self sabotage. He can't understand why a regular guy like him could end up with a strong and successful woman like Julia or Reagan. He's not the only one as a tweet went viral in January that wondered the very same thing.

RELATED: New Girl: 10 Wild Details You Never Noticed In The Series

Winston tries to convince him that Julia really likes him during their season one relationship. With his pursuit of a real relationship with Reagan, it actually takes Jess explaining to him just how great he is to make it happen. Nick needs a little encouragement to get him past his cold feet.

3 He Gets Mad At Jess For Going Through His Box

Living in a loft with three other people means that there are going to be a lot of times when boundaries are crossed. The show demonstrates that well with people forgetting to knock on doors, or hanging out in the bathroom, or prying into one another's lives.

Nick knows that his roommates are curious people. For the most part, he seems to accept slip-ups with a reminder about boundaries. When he and Jess date in the third season, however, she crosses a big line. He has a box of bills, old documents, and mementos in his closet that he keeps to himself. Jess takes it upon herself to go through it. Her actions nearly break the two up because she can't respect his privacy or allow him to make his own mistakes. While Nick not paying bills for months is definitely not a good thing, the audience can't help but side with him here.

2 Nick Eats Ruth's Sandwich

The shortened season seven features a time jump and the daughter of Schmidt and Cece. Ruth is a creature of habit. She loves her peanut butter sandwiches, and Nick is tasked with bringing her one at daycare. Unfortunately, with all the obstacles in his way, he gets a little hungry on the job.

No one is saying it's right that Nick eats half of Ruth's peanut butter sandwich, but can anyone blame him when he's tasked with something that ends up taking him all afternoon? Nick thinks he's just going to be able to go in and see her, but that doesn't happen. There's fence climbing and being detained, not to mention a very angry Cece to deal with. He saves Ruth some of her sandwich, though it's a little squashed from being in his pocket.

1 Nick Skips His Proposal Plan Multiple Times

It's not entirely Nick's fault that every time he plans to propose to Jess, something gets in the way. Life is unpredictable - even in the world of a sitcom.

Nick spends months with a ring in his possession, trying to put a plan into action. Eventually, he throws out the plan altogether. He proposes to Jess after chasing a dog that they want to adopt halfway across town. Sometimes, even the big moments in life can't be planned, and Nick knows that better than anyone.

Harley Quinn is Free of the Joker, But Her Redemption isn't Complete

Warning: Spoilers for Harley Quinn #1 ahead.

There's no arguing that since her inception, Harley Quinn has been best known as the Joker's crazy partner in crime, the Bonnie to his Clyde; but now with the rollout of DC's Infinite Frontier, she's free from his toxic clutches and is turning towards redemption. In Harley Quinn #1, fans are getting the chance to see their favorite bat wielding ex-doctor go head to head against her past in a chance for a brighter, more heroic future.

For years Harley has been seen as a villain, seemingly finding joy in her twisted profession; but as time went on, readers got to see the deeper psychological aspects of her relationship with the Joker, how much of a driving force it was behind who she is, and how lost she became inside his circle of manipulation. When it came time for her stories to focus on breaking free from his toxicity, readers and popular media embraced her turn towards independence. Popular culture sees her in a new light: a stand-alone character instead of the Joker's stooge. Birds of Prey, Harley Quinn the animated series, and recent comics have proven that. But independence is only the first step. This new story arch is giving Harley the opportunity to go one step further and really turn her life around.

Related: Harley Quinn And Batman Are Becoming More Than Allies In Her New Comic

Picking up where they left off at the end of the Joker War, Harley Quinn #1 sees the Mistress of Mayhem finally getting the chance to break free from her title. Following the trajectory of her recent comic and cinematic exploits, Harley's hero journey is officially taking flight. She's happy to be back in Gotham, to be back where she calls home, but being a hero isn't going to be easy for someone who has made so many enemies and lost so many allies. That's the reality behind abusive relationships: they can turn you into someone you don't recognize, make you do things you'd never do normally, and turn you against the people who actually care. The prospect of love and affection can be so intoxicating that it blinds people from the darkness that's festering until it's too late. And now that Harley is on her own, she's going to have to actively fight against the image Gotham has of her, reconcile the image she has of herself, and prove to Batman that he can trust her; all while being brave enough to make amends with those she's wronged...including a certain someone she's not ready to face just yet.

Harley may be out to right the wrongs of her criminal past, but she's going to have to right the wrongs of her personal past as well. Teaming up with Batman will hopefully provide her with the avenue to prove herself and clean up her act, but reassembling her personal life may prove to be a more difficult task. It's one thing to "atone for her sins" like any villain turned hero; but it's another to apologize to someone she loves for, let's say, burning down their Eden on Earth. She may have proved herself enough at the end of the Joker War to convince Batman to give her a second chance, but Poison Ivy may not be as forgiving.

Either way, she's got her work cut out for her, as does the creative team behind the comic: Stephanie Phillips, Riley Rossmo, and Ivan Plascencia. People have become aware that Harley Quinn is no longer synonymous with the Joker. This arch is giving her the opportunity to not only widen the chasm that's grown between the two popular characters, but completely change the topography of her life. She's being given the chance to be her own person again, take life into her own hands, and apply her knowledge of psychiatry into something constructive and helpful for people affected by the Joker's chaos. She can finally move on, in the comics and on the silver screen. The only question is, will she be able to atone for what she's done and heal the relationships she's betrayed, or will they end up betraying her?

Marriage Or Mortgage: How Much of the Show is Actually Scripted?

Netflix has added Marriage or Mortgage to its reality roster, and many fans think that the show is scripted. The streaming platform has had hit after hit in the past few months, perhaps because more people are tuning in during the lockdown. Hot shows include Selling Sunset, Bling Empire, and Marriage or Mortgage. Known for its fun, interesting, and wholesome vibe, Marriage or Mortgage features co-hosts Sarah Miller and Nichole Holmes (who regrets her own big wedding). The co-hosts guide each of the show's couples through the process of choosing a home or a wedding.

For couples, choosing between marriage or mortgage isn’t simple, and it's possible that some couples made the wrong choices. There are couples who see weddings as symbols of their journeys and celebrations of their lives. To them, a wedding will set a precedent for a life together. For others, a house is a logical starting point for their futures, which most people would agree is a better investment than a wedding. While viewers watch the action unfold, some of them wonder if everything is staged. They speculate that participants already bought homes or agreed on wedding ideas.

Related: 10 Best Netflix Reality Shows Like Marriage Or Mortgage

Co-hosts Nichole (she's a seasoned real estate agent) and Sarah (who is a wedding expert) have finally spoken out. In an interview with PureWow, they said that the show is real and unscripted. When the viewers are seeing the houses for the first time, the couples are also seeing the houses for the first time. Nichole commented: “For some couples, we thought we knew going in…but then it would shock me when they’d pick marriage or vice versa.” Nichole also said that although they were found through a casting agency, the couples did become real clients of theirs. Nichole added, “Just like in real estate, you’re not going to have someone buy a house from you and never talk to them again.”

There has been a lot of doubt surrounding the show being real or fake, and Nichole and Sarah have made it clear that the stories viewers watch are true and authentic. Many of those stories tugged at viewers' heartstrings. Who can forget Brittany and Scott, who shared the story of Brittany's late grandfather? The reality show is a great home show, with an added layer of tension, as couples are navigating important decisions that will impact their futures. An important part of why this show works is the way that they tell each couples' story. The pairs feel like real people who are relatable. Marriage or Mortgage highlights issues that people deal with in the real world.

The show has a lot of fans, despite the gossip about it being scripted, so many viewers are hoping for a second season. Marriage or Mortgage has stirred up a lot of conversation about hard economic truths, including the fact that plenty of couples can’t afford to get married and buy houses. However, on the surface, the show is light and a great way to pass the time.

Better Call Saul Season 6 Sees Breaking Bad Events In Different Light

The sixth season of Better Call Saul will have fans see certain events of its predecessor, Breaking Bad in a much different way. Better Call Saul is the spinoff and prequel of the latter, exploring the character of Jimmy McGill, who is a former con artist trying to turn his life around and make a name for himself as an earnest lawyer. In Breaking Bad, which takes place after the events of Better Call Saul, Jimmy appears under a pseudonym Saul Goodman, a "criminal" attorney who supervises Walter White and Jesse Pinkman on their criminal activities. Better Call Saul is now in production of its final season that will be thirteen episodes.

Better Call Saul begins six years before the events of its predecessor, offering flash forwards that open each season showing the status of Jimmy McGill after the years on Breaking Bad. The series also features many well-known characters that appear on Breaking Bad, including Mike Ehrmantraut and Gus Fring, showing their journeys leading into the Walter White crime drama. As the seasons of the prequel go on and the show gets deeper into the universe of Breaking Bad, the timeline of Better Call Saul slowly inches closer, with one more season left to tie things together.

Related: Better Call Saul Needs To Avoid Becoming Too Much Like Breaking Bad

In an interview with THR about his successful film Nobody, Bob Odenkirk, who plays Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman, touched on the final season stating that while he does not know the entire storyline of the season and is patiently waiting as he receives the scripts, he has been told by co-creator Peter Gould that once everything wraps up, fans of Breaking Bad will have a different perception of things. Odenkirk's full statement can be read below:

Yes, absolutely. In fact, I’ve been told by Peter Gould that when Better Call Saul wraps up, everyone will see Breaking Bad in a different light. I don’t know what that means. I don’t have any specifics beyond that, except that he knows what happens throughout this whole season of Saul and I don’t. But I think there are more amazing things to come that will comment on or inform the actual incidents of Breaking Bad in a surprising way.

With Better Call Saul being a prequel, those who have seen Breaking Bad know how certain characters from the show end up, such as Mike and Gus. But for viewers who haven't seen the series starring Bryan Cranston, they are still aware of Saul Goodman's future due to the flash forwards. While the show is largely about watching the journey of McGill and learning how he turns into the sleazy, unethical lawyer, it also highlights Mike's transition into the crime world from being a former police officer.

With the final season of Better Call Saul on the horizon, it is safe to assume that once the series ends and everything is full circle, fans who have seen both series will think differently, specifically when watching Breaking Bad, after knowing the journey and fates of all the Better Call Saul characters. And with the show having a reputation for integrating as many characters from Breaking Bad into the show as the seasons have gone on, there is no doubt that more characters from its predecessor will appear for its sixth season. When the fifth season of Better Call Saul ended, the show was in the year 2004, which is four years before the pilot of Breaking Bad, leaving many more stories left to be told for the upcoming final season.

Amnesia: Rebirth Adds Adventure Mode To Reduce Horror

Today, developer Frictional Games launched a free update for Amnesia: Rebirth that introduces Adventure Mode, a new exploration-based mode that reduces the horror title's scare factor. Following months of hints and teases, Frictional unveiled the most recent Amnesia chapter last spring, promising a fall 2020 release that would usher in an experience venturing "beyond horror."

The 2010 release of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, in many respects, warrants recognition as the grandfather of modern survival horror games. Amnesia's first outing positions players in the role of Daniel, a man who purposefully erased his own memory but must now stealthily navigate his way to a foreboding castle's Inner Sanctum. In an attempt to successfully complete the task, Daniel also combats his ever-draining sanity, which worsens whenever the frightening creature that hunts him gets near. Amnesia: Rebirth puts its protagonist Tasi in a similarly horrifying situation, complete with sanity-based mechanics, fearsome creatures, and a compelling narrative. Fortunately, players who may find the experience a little too terror-inducing can now explore Rebirth's Algerian ruins at their own pace.

Related: How Scary Amnesia: Rebirth Is To Play

In a blog post on its website, Frictional Games announced Adventure Mode, which features in a new update that's currently live on PC. The same update is slated to hit the PlayStation 4 "in just a few weeks." Adventure Mode offers an experience with "reduced scares," allowing players to explore the environments without worrying about sanity-draining darkness and creepy monsters. A dev diary on Frictional Games' YouTube channel further notes that Adventure Mode targets a wider audience who can't stomach horror but would be interested in Rebirth's environments, gameplay, and overarching narrative.

Frictional Games similarly released a Safe Mode for 2015's SOMA, the studio's underwater-set sci-fi horror title. Other games have explored the idea to a different degree. For example, Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey received Discovery Tour updates post-launch. Discovery Tour lets players explore Origins' Ancient Egypt and Odyssey's Ancient Greece free from combat-related concerns, which then hands the spotlight over to the series' more educational qualities.

It'd be interesting if modes of this nature were more prevalent in gaming, particularly for horror titles that some players simply can't sit through. But time will tell if other developers find such stripped down experiences worthwhile. Horror's relatively recent renaissance across most mediums of entertainment suggests the genre itself isn't going anywhere anytime soon; as such, developers have plenty of time to experiment with the possibilities.

Why the Guardians of the Galaxy's New Costumes Have Comic Fans Excited

Warning: Spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy #12!

The Guardians of the Galaxy changed drastically in the comic books after their introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe - but their new Marvel Comics costumes have long-time comic book fans excited as they return to their roots. Before their MCU debut, the Guardians of the comics worked together to protect the galaxy. They were a real organization that had top-level clearance and dealt with galactic politics and danger - complete with cool uniforms. In the movies, they became a ragtag group of pirates, and the comic book versions changed to represent that. Now, long-time comic book fans of the original Guardians of the Galaxy can get excited again, because at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy #12 they are back in matching costumes and stepping up their responsibilities, just like the good old days.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is no question that the Guardians of the Galaxy are a group of characters that work well together, but they have never seemed like a full-blown team. They are a roguish bunch that comes together to pull crazy heists and fight whichever bad guys cross their path. In Dan Abnett's Guardians of the Galaxy run, they were much more of a team than a gang. They shared a common purpose and were an official group, as represented by the outfits that they wore.

Related: Guardians Of The Galaxy Are Officially Replacing The Nova Corps

Things are heading back to how they were in the, and this is reflected in part by the new suits they are wearing at the end of the latest issue. This is even pointed out to them when Super-Skrull tells them there would be no difference in how things have been the last few years if they had disbanded. The team costumes make sense, as the Guardians are replacing the Nova Corps in upcoming issues of the series. Super-Skrull informs them in this same issue that the Galactic Council can no longer allow them to operate as they have been - which is basically a group of pirates doing whatever they feel like. Thanks to the Kree-Skrull War, the council is unable to fund a new Nova Corps, which results in the Guardians of the Galaxy taking up the mantle.

These new costumes feature a red letter G on the shoulders, surrounded by a yellow badge. They are mainly blue, with red stripes, red boots, and red gloves. Some of the Guardians also seem to have utility belts built-in. Having the team don the same costumes not only makes them look more official, but these outfits also make them look really, really cool. One of the stepping stones to this evolution of the Guardians is in large part thanks to current writer Al Ewing, and how he changed Star-Lord's character to be a perfect balance between the old comic book version, and Chris Pratt's onscreen portrayal of him. In the films, Peter Quill and the rest of the Guardians are a lot more carefree than their original comic book counterparts, which takes their job as galaxy defenders quite seriously, rather than acting like a gang of pirates and scoundrels. Fans of this initial team are going to be very happy to see what they enjoyed about the team back in the pages of current comics.

With the Guardians of the Galaxy officially replacing the Nova Corps as the universe's main protectors, they are sure to be taking their jobs more seriously and forming more of a team than a gang of pirates. The story will continue on in upcoming issues that fans of the original team will likely be pleased with. Guardians of the Galaxy #12 written by from Al Ewing and with art by Juann Cabal is in stores and online now.

Why Bucky Keeps The Secret Captain America From Steve Rogers

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 2 revealed Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers aren’t the only super soldiers out there, but Bucky was the only one who knew that and kept it a secret from Steve – but why? The highly-anticipated Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has officially begun with WandaVision and is now moving forward with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. What’s exciting about this new wave of content is that the TV shows will be linked to upcoming movies and will have an impact on the MCU, unlike Netflix’s Marvel shows.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is set approximately six months after the events of Avengers: Endgame and follows Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) as he struggles to decide whether or not to take the mantle of Captain America as Steve Rogers intended, and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), who continues to deal with the demons of his past as the Winter Soldier. Together they will come face to face with a radical group called the Flag-Smashers, who appear to have enhanced abilities that could be linked to the super-soldier serum that gave Bucky and Steve their super skills.

Related: Why Bucky Ages Differently Than Captain America

Bucky took Sam to meet Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly), a former soldier who also underwent experiments with the super-soldier serum, but his story was completely different from that of Steve and Bucky. Isaiah Bradley seems to have been isolating himself for years and refused to tell Bucky and Sam anything about how he came by his powers and how the super-soldier serum could have landed in others' hands. Clearly, Isaiah is still haunted by his memories of the war that were made a lot worse thanks to the experiments he went through and how he was used as a super-soldier, which is Bucky’s excuse when Sam questions him about not saying anything about his existence prior to this meeting – but Bucky might have kept Isaiah’s story a secret from Steve and the rest for other reasons.

Although Steve’s story wasn’t easy either, it was less traumatic and difficult than those of Bucky and Isaiah. Steve was modeled as a hero, a role he fully embraced later on and for many, many years, but Bucky was subjected to various experiments, memory wipes, and brainwashing, and Isaiah’s road to becoming a super-soldier surely wasn’t easy either – for instance, he was able to tear off Bucky’s arm during their battle, which says a lot about his abilities and temper. Bucky, then, could be seeing a parallel in himself and how different Steve’s experience as the super-soldier Captain America was from his journey as the Winter Soldier and Isaiah’s experience as well, and knowing Steve as well as he did, Bucky knew that if Steve learned about the existence of other super-soldiers it was going to affect him deeply.

Bucky sees both sides of the coin: he witnessed how the super-soldier serum turned his best friend into a hero, but he also saw the rougher side of it in Isaiah and experienced the not-so-heroic side of it himself. As The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is only getting started, it remains to be seen if Isaiah Bradley will play a bigger role in the series (and perhaps the MCU in general) and if his story will be made public at some point.

The X-Men's Cyclops Broke One Surprising Mutant's Heart

The X-Men's Cyclops broke one surprising mutant's heart. Modern X-Men fans tend to think of Cyclops as a pretty dull, by-the-books figure. This perception is predominantly influenced by the enduring popularity of the classic X-Men: The Animated Series, and it was cemented in place in Fox's X-Men movies. But over time, Cyclops has played the role of a heartbreaker, and in Frenzy's case, he totally for their tragic romance.

It's easy to forget that Cyclops is actually supposed to be an incredibly charismatic leader. He is meant to be the kind of guy you simply can't help following, with a forceful personality and a strategic brilliance that ensures you won't regret it; that's why he's the X-Men's greatest leader. This charisma also manifests in the fact he seems to be unusually attractive to members of the opposite sex (particularly to telepaths; even Psylocke found him irresistible). But the most surprising mutant to have her heart broken by Scott Summers was actually a long-standing member of Magneto's Acolytes.

Frenzy is a mutant powerhouse, whose strength, speed, agility, and endurance are all well beyond peak athlete. She grew up as a victim of abuse, and when her powers first manifested she unwittingly killed her abusive father in an act of self-defense. Frenzy became a mercenary for a time, but she loved the thrill of combat, and her bloodlust ultimately led her to the Acolytes. It was there that she first met Cyclops, and he impressed her greatly when he led a group of Acolyte survivors across the Australian outback, refusing to let any of them die. Years later, Frenzy was one of the mutants who settled in San Francisco, living under Cyclops' leadership.

And then Charles Xavier's son Legion used his reality-warping powers to create a false reality known as the "Age of X." This dystopian timeline was one in which the mutant race was struggling to survive, and in this alternative world Frenzy and Cyclops were lovers. When reality was restored, Frenzy was one of the few mutants who chose to retain her memories of the "Age of X." In spite of the horrific circumstances, she had known a degree of peace and acceptance among fellow mutants that she had never experienced before, and she didn't want to forget that.

It seems Frenzy never got over Cyclops. In SWORD #4, she goes up against Kid Cable, who has been possessed by Knull, the god of the symbiotes. A furious Knull threatens an act of terrible revenge; "I'll make you kill everyone you've ever loved," he tells her. "Beat your own children to death--" Frenzy is unimpressed, interrupting him to continue the beat-down. "I've only ever loved one person," she responds. "And if he'd felt the same, you'd be my stepson. So this must feel like a win." As badass as the scene may be, it's hard not to feel sorry for Frenzy, the lover Cyclops has forgotten he ever had, and yet who will always remember their time together.

The Voice Season 20: Which Singers Won The Battles Round 1

The first round of the Battles on The Voice season 20 is now behind us, and the fans want to find out which singers won, lost, and got stolen by another coach during this phase in the competition. This has been one of the most exciting and talent-packed seasons of The Voice in a while, and it is a great thing that the series has now perfected the art of filming new cycles of the show amid the COVID-19 pandemic. When it comes to the coaches, the dynamic between Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Nick Jonas has also been very exciting to watch.

As the Blind Auditions phase came to a close on season 20, The Voice moved forward to the Battles round. As it has been a tradition on the show, the Battles are when the coaches pair two of their contestants to sing/duet the same song against each other. In the end, their chosen coach can only pick one of them to move forward in the competition. However, the other coaches have a chance at "stealing" the losing singer if they think that this contestant deserves another shot at winning the show. On Monday, March 29, NBC aired the first round of the Battles on season 20.

The first set of Battles on The Voice season 20 featured six pairings: two from Team Blake Shelton, two from Team Nick Jonas, one from Team Kelly Clarkson, and one from Team John Legend. To start the episode off, Kelly paired up Ryleigh Modig and Gean Garcia to perform Ariana Grande's "pov", and Ryleigh came out victorious. Both John and Blake tried to steal Gean, so the contestant chose to join Team Legend. Blake's first pairing of the night was Connor Christian and Aaron Konzelman, and they dueted Rodney Crowell's "Ain't Living Long Like This". Connor won, and Aaron was not stolen by another coach. Then, Team Blake's Ethan Lively and Avery Roberson faced off singing James Otto's "Just Got Started Lovin' You". Ethan won, and Kelly's temporary replacement Kelsea Ballerini stole Avery for Team Kelly.

When it comes to Nick Jonas' The Voice team on season 20, the popstar first had Dana Monique and Devan Blake Jones duet to Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande's "Stuck with U". Nick chose Dana as the winner of the Battle, but he also used his own "steal" to keep Devan on his team. Then, Team Nick's Jose Figueroa Jr. and Awari performed Lauren Daigle's "You Say" in their own Battle, and Jose was picked as the winner. Unfortunately, Awari wasn't stolen by another coach. When it comes to John Legend's roster of contestants, the R&B singer paired up Pia Renee and Christine Cain to sing Brandy's "Baby". Pia was the winner, and Christine was eliminated from the show.

It's been a great season of The Voice on NBC so far. Next week, the coaches will keep pairing up their mentees against each other and choosing a winner from each Battle. A lot of talent can be lost during this round, but it's always nice when a coach gets to save a contestant from going home.

Godzilla vs Kong Fans Have Booked Over 10,000 Private Watch Parties

In anticipation of the release of Godzilla vs Kong, fans across the United States have booked over 10,000 private watch parties at local theaters. 2020 was a rough year for the exhibition industry, with theaters remaining closed for most of the year. When they did reopen, studios had already pushed nearly all of their major blockbusters into 2021, hoping that, by then, the box office would be in a much better state. Instead of risking further delays, Warner Bros. decided to release their 2021 slate on HBO Max and in theaters the same day, including Godzilla vs Kong.

The highly anticipated battle of the Titans will see the last six years of Legendary's MonsterVerse story come to a head on March 31. Godzilla, who has appeared in both 2014's Godzilla and 2019's Godzilla: King of the Monsters, will go up against Kong, introduced in Kong: Skull Island. The film, which has already premiered internationally, broke records as the largest international opening for a blockbuster during the pandemic, and all eyes will be watching to see how it performs at the US box office over the Easter weekend.

The unpredictability of the US box office makes it hard to gauge just how well Godzilla vs Kong will perform, but THR reports that analysts are estimating a $30 million haul over the five day period. The film will be playing on over 3,000 screens starting Wednesday before it expands to more than 6,000 on the weekend, another pandemic record. It sounds like many of those screens will be for private showings, with Warner Bros. telling THR that fans have booked over 10,000 private screenings of Godzilla vs Kong.

The private screenings trend began in response to the pandemic. As theaters began to reopen their doors, they hoped to entice moviegoers back into seats by offering private showings that fans could book on their websites. Typically, theaters would offer a back catalog of classic movies for fans to choose from at a lower rate, with new releases costing a little bit more. There's still a capacity limit on these private screenings, but theaters are able to charge a flat fee for the showing, guaranteeing a certain amount of money would be coming in.

Wonder Woman 1984 also had over 10,000 private screenings scheduled prior to its debut, proving that, despite both films releasing on HBO Max, many fans are still interested in seeing these films on the biggest screen possible. How much that factors into a film's box office take remains to be seen, but things are looking up for Godzilla vs Kong. Not only is the film being released at a time when there are more screens available than ever before in the last year, but many people are vaccinated now, too. Godzilla vs Kong's international take also shows that anticipation for the film is extremely high, and that, coupled with positive reviews, has the film entering theaters with a strong wind behind it.

A woman, cranky because her husband was late coming home again, decided to leave a note, saying, "I've had enough and have left you. Don't bother coming after me.”

Then she hid under the bed to see his reaction.

After a short while, the husband comes home and she could hear him in the kitchen before he comes into the bedroom.

She could see him walk towards the dresser and pick up the note.

After a few minutes, he wrote something on it before picking up the phone and calling someone.

"She's finally gone...yeah I know, about bloody time, I'm coming to see you, put on that sexy French nightie.

I love you...can't wait to see you...we'll do all the naughty things you like."

He hung up, grabbed his keys and left.

She heard the car drive off as she came out from under the bed.

Seething with rage and with tears in her eyes she grabbed the note to see what he wrote...

"I can see your feet.

We're outta bread: be back in five minutes.

Mark Hamill Details Horrible Weather During Original Star Wars Filming

Star Wars alum, Mark Hamill, shares details about the difficult weather he and his castmates had to combat while filming the original franchise. Marketed as a large-scale space opera, the first film debuted in 1977 and quickly launched the careers of its superstar trio, Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford. The movie was a blockbuster hit, grossing over $220 million during its initial run. The resurgence of the franchise in 2015 re-introduced the beloved characters of Han Solo and Luke and Leia Skywalker to a new generation of fans.

In the first installment of Star Wars, otherwise known as Star Wars: A New Hope, the film follows Luke Skywalker as he teams up with the charismatic pilot Han Solo and a Wookiee named Chewbacca to save Imperial Senator Princess Leia of Alderaan from the Galactic Empire. During this journey, Skywalker receives guidance from his mentor, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, and learns to embrace his own skills as a fighter. In an effort to defeat the villainous Darth Vader, Skywalker and Solo also attempt to deliver plans outlining the inner workings of the Galactic Empire’s Death Star to the Rebel Alliance.

On Twitter, Hamill revealed the challenging reality of filming in an unpredictable climate. Sharing pictures of the shoot, he described a rainstorm that plagued the first week of the making of Star Wars in 1977. While on the set of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in 1980, an unexpected blizzard deterred the cast from filming on a glacier. As a result, they had to regroup and shoot right behind their hotel. Check out the pictures below:

Despite these obstacles, the original Star Wars trilogy captured the imagination of the entire world. The films ruled the pop culture domain, generating spinoffs, prequels, comic books, video games, and television shows. Along with the first three chapters, a prequel trilogy premiered from 1999 to 2005. Although these movies garnered critical backlash, fans remained deeply invested in the Star Wars universe. A recent sequel trilogy, the last installment of which aired in 2019, re-ignited a cultural fervor surrounding the multigenerational story. To this day, the films remain the second-highest-grossing franchise of all time.

Similar to the prequels of the early aughts, the last film released as part of the saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, received noticeably negative reviews. However, the long-lasting space epic has endured as an iconic and triumphant work of cinema. Despite its fluctuations in storytelling, including narrative mishaps and eyebrow-raising deaths, Star Wars perseveres as a cult classic. The original stars of the film, particularly Hamill, have helped sustain its lasting mark on the canon of cinema.

Wonder Woman's New Series Could Save Infinite Frontier's Worst Twist

Warning: spoilers ahead for Dark Nights: Death Metal and Wonder Woman #770!

Wonder Woman's new series could save Infinite Frontier's worst plot twist. The character's first issue in DC Comics' new initiative may have potentially undone her sacrifice in Dark Nights: Death Metal by having her turn down a major new role. However, Wonder Woman #770 may fix that twist for the better, depending on the journey she takes.

Dark Nights: Death Metal was one of the last big events that help set up the future continuity of the DC universe. It ended with Wonder Woman facing down the Batman Who Laughs and saving the Multiverse. As a result, she was offered the chance to transcend mortality and join the Quintessence - a group of six neutral, god-like observers of the Multiverse. Though already a god, Diana was set for the biggest promotion possible. And this offer of ascension to help the Hands guide the future of the DC universe led into the start of DC's newest continuity update

Related: The New Wonder Woman Avoids Fighting in the Weirdest Way

Infinite Frontier #1 revealed that Wonder Woman turned down ascension. Afterward, she seemed to be ready to return to Earth. Since the role of ascension was so different from her usual one, it seemed to be an exciting change for the character and the decision to turn it down initially came across as a disappointment. However, Wonder Woman #770 shows that turning ascension down may lead to a whole new journey for Wonder Woman, even though rejecting godhood seems like a poor decision for DC to have made for the character.

Wonder Woman has woken up in Asgard and while this seems strange, it may be exactly what was needed after the initial disappointment. The Return of Superman following The Death of Superman seemed to cheapen the weight of superhero deaths. After all, it proved that heroes could come back from death very easily, with relatively minor consequences. DC almost seemed to be going the same route with Wonder Woman this time. She ended Dark Nights: Death Metal by sacrificing herself and a speedy return to Earth would severely cheapen the weight of her decision.

Instead, Wonder Woman may have a longer road ahead of her that will hopefully make all of the sacrifices - and even the declined ascension - worthwhile. Wonder Woman #770 is captioned "A NEW ODYSSEY STARTS HERE." If this is in fact an odyssey, where Diana has to work her way back home through intense trials and challenges, it could be the payoff fans are now looking for. Diana has already proven to be a skilled leader, an inspiring hero, and a staple of the DC trinity. This new story needs to live up to the legacy she has created in the past few events and give Wonder Woman the chance to pay off fans' interest and continued support

Selling An iPad? What You Need To Know & Do Explained

Selling a device is part of the tech life cycle, but for those unfamiliar with the process of disposing of old tech, selling something like an aging iPad can come with some additional complications. Though getting rid of much older technology previously only involved a simple factory reset, today's Apple devices require a few more steps to ensure the product can be given to someone else with minimal issues.

Throughout the years, Apple has constantly improved its device ecosystem by polishing integration features like iCloud and Find My. With these features, Apple users can easily transfer data between different devices, and even find lost or stolen devices using another device. However, the improved level of seamless integration also makes switching ownership of a device that bit more difficult. Not to mention, selling a used iPad to an unknown third party can be even riskier.

Related: Can You Update An Old iPad To iPadOS 14?

In a support document, Apple details what users should do before selling, giving away, or trading their iPad. In the most ideal situation, users can disconnect their device from iCloud and the App Store, while backing up all information and data to the cloud or another device. After which, users can then delete all the data stored on the iPad. Users should also remove their device from the Find My iPad feature. In a less than ideal scenario, former owners will need to ask the new owners to do it for them.

After deleting all the data from an iPad, users can finally ship it to a new home and owner. Today, there are a number of different ways to sell an old device. The most traditional way is through word of mouth, where devices can be sold to friends or friends of friends. Another way is to post an ad on a public forum like Craigslist or on an online marketplace, such as eBay or Swappa. Finally, users can trade their iPad in through more official channels, including Amazon, carriers, and even Apple itself, for credit towards a new device.

Naturally, the iPad's resale value will depend on which method is chosen. If the user sells the device themselves, they can usually negotiate a better resale price. However, selling through word of mouth or through personal ads doesn't guarantee an actual sale — at least, not quickly. On the other hand, if users go through the more official channels, they will guarantee the sale but can only rely on the price the channel offers for the device. For example, Apple offers up to $250 for a standard iPad and $535 for iPad Pro. Although it is worth keeping in mind that these prices are dependent on the generation and condition of the iPad with Apple offering far less for much older models.
