Toy Story 4 Was Delayed Because Pixar 'Threw Out' Most Of The Script

The project was <a href="https://ift.tt/2sDv25d announced back in 2014</a>, when the intention was for it to hit theaters in 2017. However, as the sequel made its way through the developmental process, it kept getting pushed back. Currently, it's secured in Pixar's June 2019 slot - a release date that director Josh Cooley <a href="https://ift.tt/2kIHHjM only a couple months ago</a>.</p><p><a href="https://ift.tt/2sDAIfo productions are no stranger to Pixar</a>, but <em>Toy Story 4</em> is arguably more troubled than most. Late last year, co-writers <a href="https://ift.tt/2kJK0D5 Jones and Will McCormack left the film</a>, citing creative differences as the main reason for their departure. Given how long it takes for animated films to come together, the fact <em>Toy Story 4's</em> behind-the-scenes team was getting an upheaval at this stage raised a few eyebrows.
