Ant-Man & The Wasp Blu-ray Trailer, Release Date & Details Unveiled

Marvel has released a new Blu-ray trailer and details regarding the home release of Ant-Man and the WaspThe summer superhero film served as a palate cleanser post Avengers: Infinity War with a smaller, more character focused story. The movie was well received by fans who eagerly combed the post-credit scenes for clues about what may come post-snap in Avengers 4.

Ant-Man and the Wasp saw Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) working to free Hope's mother Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer) from the Quantum Realm and battling with Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and some other cronies along the way. Since Ant-Man and the Wasp spent its time exploring the Quantum Realm and how it works, many fans believe it could hold the key to defeating Thanos. Especially since Scott will be part of the next team up, after sittinging out of Infinity War due to his Civil War house arrest.

The Blu-ray trailer highlights some of the funniest moments and best fight scenes from Ant-Man and the Wasp. We get to see Hope in action and Michael Pena's Luis explain things in his typical hilarious and long winded fashion. The film will be released on digital HD and 4K Ultra HD on Oct, 2 and on Blu-ray on Oct. 16. You can watch the trailer below.

Collider also provided some additional information about what bonus features to expect with the Blu-ray. There are gag reels and outtakes of course - including a special outtake reel featuring Stan Lee and another with Tim Heidecker who made a cameo as the Whale Watch boat captain. There are two deleted scenes, with commentary by director Peyton Reed. One shows Janet giving Hank a tour around the Quantum Realm. One can never have too much Michelle Pfeiffer, so more scenes of Janet are always a good thing. The other deleted scene is of baddie Sonny Burch (Walton Goggins) checking security cameras on his hunt to track down Hank.

There are also plenty of making of features on the Blu-ray including a behind the scenes look at the VFX and production design of the film. This takes fans inside the smallest (and largest) details of the film and how it all comes together. There is also a reintroduction to Scott as a superhero and a super dad and a look at the creation of the Wasp suit and stunts. "Subatomic Superheroes" takes a look inside the Quantum Realm as well as the legacy of characters of Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne in the comics and the iconic actors who play them. There is no director's commentary bonus feature, but instead there is an introduction with Reed taking viewers "deeper into the world" of Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Digital exclusives for Ant-Man and the Wasp also include "10 Years of Marvel Studios: The Art of the Marvel Cinematic Universe" which takes fans behind the scenes to show how concept artists help bring the MCU to life. There is even an Online Close-Up Magic University commercial, keeping with the fun theme of the film, which inspires fans to "expand (their) mind and maximize (their) full potential!" These little fun bonus features provide incentive for fans to buy films when they're released, rather than waiting for their eventual drop on Netflix. And even the most casual fan should check out some of the behind the scenes videos just to see all the work it takes to make a superhero film.
