Titans is one of the DC Universe's flagship shows to air on its new streaming service. Based on the comic of the same name, Titans will focus on Dick Grayson/ Robin, as the leader of the Titans, comprised of Raven, Beast Boy, Starfire, and more, who work alongside him to combat evil. Here's every update you need to know.

Brenton Thwaites As Robin Leads Up A Dynamic Cast

Brenton Thwaites will lead the cast of Titans as Dick Grayson/ Robin. A former circus performer, Dick was trained to fight crime by Batman as his sidekick. Dick is now an adult, and continues to fight crime as he tries to step out of Batman's shadow. Thwaites is best known for playing Prince Phillip in Maleficent, and Henry Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. He is joined by Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly as Hawk and Dove, respectively, who will be portrayed as boyfriend and girlfriend. Meanwhile, Anna Diop and Teagon Croft take on Starfire and Raven, respectively, with Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, a teenager with the ability to shapeshift into any animal.

Lindsey Gort will play Amy Rohrbach, a police detective who serves as Dick's partner in the force. Seamus Dever also joins the roster, though details of his role are being kept tightly under wraps. However, it's rumored that he will be playing the show's main villain, Trigon. Curran Walters is also set to appear as Jason Todd, the second Robin, who eventually evolved into The Red Hood. Finally, members of the Doom Patrol are also lined up to appear, with Bruno Bichir cast as Niles Caulder/ Chief, their leader.

Will Batman Appear?

One of the biggest questions surrounding Titans is whether or not we can expect an appearance from Batman/ Bruce Wayne. While the show is focused on Dick, Bruce Wayne is obviously a key figure in his life, and it would seem logical to expect reference to him at the very least. The first trailer for Titans gave us that reference, with a very dark, very definite "Fuck Batman," from Robin, suggesting that there might be some animosity between the pair. Geoff Johns has expanded upon the now infamous line, by explaining that Robin is clearly struggling with his past with Batman.

Call sheets revealed that Dick is living in Bruce Wayne's penthouse with Raven (known as Rachel in the show); another factor that would surely hint at an appearance from the caped crusader at some point. There's also the possibility of flashbacks, of course, giving us the moment that Bruce decided to adopt Dick and how their relationship evolved from there.

How To Watch Titans

Titans will premiere on DC's new streaming service, DC Universe, set to launch in Fall 2018. The subscription service will offer a host of original DC shows, including an animated Harley Quinn series, and live-action Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol series as well as Titans, of course. While it's an exciting new venture, it does also mean there's a lot of people who won't be able to access Titans- at least initially. That's because those in the U.S. will need to make the decision to pay for DC Universe and, at present, it won't be available internationally. There's currently no word on when - or if - DC Universe will go global, or whether its original shows, including Titans, will be picked up by other networks in other countries.

Confirmed Costumes and Locations

DC has billed Titans as a gritty, dark drama, and what we've seen certainly reflects that. Official art released by DC reveals the comic accurate costumes designed for each of the characters, from Beast Boy's green skin and hair to Starfire's green eyes and flaming red hair. There are, of course, some minor variations, with Raven being the most drastic, trading her robes for a trenchcoat, although a more typical costumer for her could logically still make an appearance later in the season.

Set photos have strongly hinted that Gotham City will play a part in Titans; a TV camera van seen on location in Toronto was marked as being from Gotham, and the Bat Signal was spotted during filming as well; a strong indication that not only will the Titans explore Gotham in some measure, but that Batman will never be far away.

Filming Is Wrapped, When Will Titans Arrive?

Filming for Titans wrapped back at the end of June, and Thwaites marked the occasion by releasing a moody, behind the scenes photo. The first trailer for the show is already released, but we don't have an exact release date for the series yet. We do know, however, that it will launch on the DC Universe streaming platform, which is set to arrive this Fall. With that in mind, it's very likely we'll see Titans on our screens before 2018 is out.

The First Trailer for Titans is Pretty Dark

Titans unveiled its first trailer during San Diego Comic-Con, and it's fair to say the trailer delivered more or less what fans were expecting. That's not to say its a bad thing; the trailer was dark and gritty, which is what we've been promised all along. It also, of course, contained the now infamous "Fuck Batman" line, which hints at tension between Batman and Robin. The trailer also showed Raven seeking out Dick after having had a vision of him as Batman, but apart from a glimpse at Hawk and Dove, we didn't see how the other Titans will work into the story; that'll have to wait for the show itself to air.
