How to Unlock King K. Rool in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

After months of anticipation, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is finally here and with it comes a whopping 74 playable fighters, including King K. Rool. While there are a number of highly anticipated characters now playable for the first time ever in the series' history, one of the longstanding community favorites making their debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is none other than Donkey Kong's arch nemesis, King K. Rool.

Given the fan excitement about King K. Rool in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it's clear that a number of players are going to want to play as the Kremling king sooner rather than later. While there is a technique to unlock every character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate quickly, fans may want to take their time going through the paces and earning fighters with King K. Rool. Fortunately there's a quick way to unlock him as the first character in the game.

The first thing players need to do it boot up the game and enter Classic Mode. From here there will be the initial eight fighters that the game starts with, provided that gamers haven't already unlocked others. Select Link and then start playing through the brief mode. It doesn't matter which difficulty gamers decide to trek through this option with either, as the same sequence of characters will appear regardless.

Provided that players are able to get to the end and conquer the dark lord Ganon, King K. Rool will appear to challenge players. Simply defeat the Donkey Kong Country villain and he will be added to the final roster. On the off chance that players fall to King K. Rool, all they have to do is repeat the process and he'll appear again. After he has been knocked out, he'll be available to enjoy for everyone in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate multiplayer.

There are a number of heavily fan-requested characters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that didn't make the cut, and it's awesome to see that at least King K. Rool did. Still, other characters do have a chance to make it into the game as downloadable content in the future, with four spots currently available as part of the Fighters Pass. It was only just recently revealed that Persona 5's Joker will join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the first paid-for downloadable fighter – with the playable Piranha Plant joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate slightly before that. Even then, it's good to see King K. Rool back in the limelight.
