Stranger Things 3 Teaser Reveals Episode Titles

The first teaser for season 3 of Stranger Things reveals all of the episode titles for the upcoming season. This teaser continues a trend from season 2, placing episode titles over the show's opening title sequence without revealing any actual footage.

The third season of Stranger Things revisits Hawkins, Indiana, the Upside Down, and Eleven's (Millie Bobby Brown) scientifically-altered coming-of-age journey. Season 2 of the series heightened the sci-fi-style horrors from its debut season, exploring the mystery behind Will Byers' (Noah Schnapp) time inside the Upside Down, expanding on Eleven's powers, and revisiting the relationships between friends, families, and brand new characters like Max (Sadie Sink) and Bob Newby (Sean Astin). Now, despite there being no actual footage revealed, the first teaser for Stranger Things 3 hints at things to come next summer when the season is released. Season 3 also stars Finn Wolfhard, Dustin Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Winona Ryder, and David Harbour.

The brand new teaser trailer for Stranger Things 3 reveals all of the eight titles in the new season. The titles include "Suzie, Do You Copy?," "The Mall Rats," "The Case of the Missing Lifeguard," "The Sauna Test," "The Source," "The Birthday," The Bite," and "The Battle of Starcourt." Though these titles are vague, one solid takeaway suggests that some notable moments in the new season will take place in the town's new Starcourt Mall (an earlier teaser for the show doubled as a fake commercial for the mall's reveal in Hawkins). Watch the teaser below:

While details surrounding the third season of Stranger Things are sparse, the show's creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, did reveal that audiences will see the return of one familiar baddie: the Mind Flayer. Along with a new cast of characters, including Cary Elwes as Mayor Larry Kline, Jake Busey as a reporter named Bruce, and Maya Hawke as an "alternative girl" named Robin, the Duffer Brothers also promise "legitimately creepy moments" and "warm and character-based" moments.

It's nothing new for the marketing behind Stranger Things to be surrounded by mystery, and that same approach applies to season 3. That said, the titles offer something for fans to speculate over until some actual footage drops, including the focus on the town's new mall, the significance surrounding one of the characters' birthdays, and a "missing lifeguard," which ties into the presumed summer setting. With the new season set in 1985, the characters are all older - but whether they're any wiser remains to be seen.
