Lois Lane is coming to the Arrowverse, and the casting breakdown has revealed crucial details about her character. Lois has been mentioned before in the Arrowverse, specifically on Supergirl. During Superman's introduction in season 2, Lois was confirmed to be his significant other, and Lois' sister and father were recurring characters in Supergirl season 1.
For the annual Arrowverse crossover event, Lois will finally appear in the flesh, and alongside her super beau Clark Kent. Tyler Hoechlin will be reprising his role of Superman for the event, but Lois has yet to be cast. It seems that the Arrowverse is searching for a very traditional and classic version of the famous Pulitzer prize winning journalist.

The casting breakdown for the Arrowverse's Lois Lane has been obtained by That Hashtag Show. The character description is admittedly brief, but it does hint a lot at what the Arrowverse is aiming for with Lois and how much she'll be involved in the big event. It reads as follows:
[LOIS LANE] Female, early 30s, Caucasian. The daughter of a US army general, Lois is tough, principled and dogged. She’s a journalist who will do anything to get the story — and almost always does. This character will appear in the The Flash and Supergirl crossover event. RECURRING GUEST STAR.

The casting breakdown confirms that unlike some other Arrowverse adaptations, Lois Lane will not be portrayed as a different race from the comics. This does make sense, as Jenna Dewan and Glenn Morshower played her sister and father, respectively. Fans can probably expect a traditionally raven-haired Lois to command the screen in the Arrowverse. It does sound as if Lois will be just as fierce as her comic counterpart. Lois' relationship to her army general father and her dedication are both underlined in the character breakdown.
One curious note from the casting breakdown is that the Arrowverse's Lois Lane will be younger than Superman. Although Tyler Hoechlin plays Superman, Kal-El is actually in his early 40s, not 30s. It's only because of his Kryptonian physiology that Superman appears younger than his biological years. It's likely that the Arrowverse won't even address the age difference, and just have it be assumed that Lois and Superman are of similar age.
The most interesting part of the breakdown however is that it only lists The Flash and Supergirl episodes of the crossover for Lois' appearances. The 2018 crossover will include every Arrowverse show other than Legends of Tomorrow, but according to the breakdown, Lois won't appear in the Arrow section of the crossover. If true, this an odd decision, as Arrow's part of the crossover will occur directly between The Flash and Supergirl. Whether the same restrictions apply to Superman or not remains to be seen, but it does like Lois' appearance will bookend the crossover. There's also the potential for her character to continue to appear throughout Supergirl season 3, as her character is listed as a recurring guest star. It's possible though that the recurring status could just refer to the crossover itself. If Lois does stick around beyond the crossover, there's a chance for the Arrowverse version to interact with Smallville's Lois Lane. Erica Durance, who played Lois on Smallville, currently plays Kara Danvers' mother on Supergirl.
