Batman and Justice League Star in Unique Art for UK Collectible Stamps

This September, Batman, the Justice League other iconic DC heroes will be featured on a series of collector stamps released in the United Kingdom by the Royal Mail. These 18 stamps will celebrate the history and legacy of DC Comics, spotlighting the heroes and villains that have made the company great.

The Royal Mail is responsible for delivering letters and parcels throughout the United Kingdom, and has a history of releasing collectible stamp sets on themes from Star Wars to historical events. In 2007, the USPS issued the first set of collector stamps based on comic book characters. The first set was based on classic Marvel characters and stories, but later sets focusing on DC would follow. This September, DC fans in the United Kingdom will be able to purchase stamps featuring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and others in unique art commissioned for this project.

The Royal Mail updated their website to showcase not only the stamps, but also purchase options. There is a total of 18 stamps, stretching across two sets, with art by British artist Jim Cheung and acclaimed colorist Laura Martin. Fans have the option to purchase just the stamps, but there are also a number of attractive display options for sale as well. There are stamp books featuring both Batman and Wonder Woman; each book features four first-class stamps. In addition to stamps, the Royal Mail will also offer gold and silver medals of Batman and other DC heroes. Fans can also purchase themed collections, and there are framed prints for sale.
