Dancing with the Stars pro Sharna Burgess is letting fans know about this season's even stricter COVID-19 protocols. Last year's season 29 kept contestants separate from each other to prohibit the spread of the virus. DWTS professional Lindsay Arnold, who was absent from season 29 but still knew what was going down on the show, said the dancers weren't allowed to interact with each other. Normally, the cast hangs out in the studio but was prevented from doing so due to the pandemic. The lack of a live audience was also a huge change for the competition show.
Season 30 has already announced which pro dancers are returning. Along with Sharna, Lindsay and Witney Carson will be coming back after taking last season off due to their pregnancies. Britt Stewart, Cheryl Burke, Daniella Karagach, Emma Slater and Jenna Johnson will round out the female pros who are returning to the dance floor. As for the males, Alan Bersten, Artem Chigvintsev, Brandon Armstrong, Gleb Savchenko, Pasha Pashkov, Sasha Farber and Valentin Chmerkovskiy will all be making a comeback to DWTS. There's one extra female pro for JoJo Siwa, who will be competing with a same-sex partner for the first time in the show's history.
Sharna recently answered fans' questions about what the upcoming season will look like. "Still in pods. Married couples still have to live separately while in competition. And so much more," Sharna said about the COVID-19 protocols (via Us Weekly). "In short… Even more strict than last year." One thing that's staying the same as last year is the inclusion of Derek Hough as a judge. After longtime judge Len Goodman couldn't travel to Los Angeles last season due to COVID-19, Derek took over for him.

Brian Austin Green, Beverly Hills 90210 alum and Sharna's boyfriend, will also be competing on the show. There's a good chance the couple will be paired together as partners, as well. Other celebs that will be competing on season 30 include Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee, former Bachelor Matt James, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore and Lori Loughlin’s daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli. The full cast list will be announced on September 8 on Good Morning America.
Dancing with the Stars season 30 is shaping up to be a historic season. Between filming a show under COVID-19 protocols, hitting 30 seasons and JoJo getting to dance with a same-sex partner, this season will definitely be one of the most entertaining to watch. No matter which celebrity takes home the mirrorball trophy, this will be a season to remember.
