MCU Spider-Man 3: 10 Alternate Versions Of Spider-Man That Need To Appear

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to expand to unprecedented lengths by incorporating the Spider-Verse arc in the third Spider-Man movie. A host of names have already been confirmed, with several villains across the multiverse set to appear. This leaves the matter of incorporating the versions of the titular superhero.

Since Sony and Marvel have a partnership in distributing the movie, there’s nothing stopping from them including any version of the character. It doesn’t matter if these were seen in comics or animated media, as the multiverse includes all of these anyway. Due to this, it’s worth speculating which Spider-Man can show up, with the following hopefully adapted into the story.

10 Peter Parker (Into The Spider-Verse)

Everything about SpiderMan: Into the Spider-Verse was well-received, from the fight scenes to the characters involved. This version of Peter Parker was a mentor-type figure, which isn’t common with most Spider-Man depictions.

Since he’s already been shown across the multiverse, it’s not too farfetched for him to appear in the MCU as well. After all, every version of Spider-Man is part of the Spider-Verse, meaning even an animated character can show up, which would also be an enormous game-changer in cinema.

9 Ultimate Universe Miles Morales

This is different from the Miles Morales seen in gaming and the protagonist of Into the Spider-Verse. The Ultimate Universe Miles is actually the real one in the comics who transitioned to Earth-616. Since he’s basically the prime version, it would be great to have the first Miles Morales appear in live-action.

This Miles Morales was also relatively similar to the MCU Peter Parker in personality, which would make for some great scenes between the two Spider-Men over their shared interests.

8 Spider-Gwen

Of course, this is Gwen Stacy and not Peter Parker, but Earth-65 had her as the Prime Spider-Man rather than Peter Parker, thus qualifying Spider-Gwen as a version of the character. She’s also traveled across the multiverse already, so the MCU won’t be anything new for her.

This way, the MCU can also include the existence of Gwen Stacy, as the series has so far completely disregarded the previous love interests of Peter Parker. While she shouldn’t be a potential romantic interest again, Gwen’s appearance would at least bring a level of familiarity to the MCU.

7 Spider-Man 2099

Spider-Man 2099 was shown in the ending of Into the Spider-Verse after having created a watch that allowed him to travel through dimensions. Since the MCU has already introduced the concept of time travel in Avengers: Endgame, including this version should be easy.

It doesn’t even necessarily have to be the Spider-Man 2099 of the comics or animated movie, as the MCU can present a futuristic Spider-Man from its own timeline as well. Still, since the multiverse is being included in the third Spider-Man movie, it would be easier to incorporate the Spider-Man 2099 since he has already established.

6 The Superior Spider-Man

Doctor Octopus has already been confirmed in the villains for the next movie, but this would be an even bigger shocker. The Superior Spider-Man was Earth-616’s Doc Ock, who had transferred his conscience into Peter Parker’s and became the Prime Spider-Man for a time.

This version faced several other Spider-Men in the comics’ Spider-Verse, and the MCU can show him during this time of his life. It would be an incredible sight to see him interact with the Sam Raimi universe Doc Ock, something that sounds like a mouth-watering prospect of fan service.

5 Venom Spider-Man

The inclusion of Venom in Spider-Man continues to age badly, but the execution of a dark Peter through the symbiote was well received. Spider-Man: The Animated Series showed a version that had become consumed by the symbiote and become monstrous like Venom.

This Spider-Man would be a fascinating inclusion in the MCU film, as it would straightaway introduce Venom to the series while giving the MCU Spider-Man a foe to fight against. It would be an introduction with a huge impact that is certain to leave a lasting impression.

4 Spider-Man Clones

The Clone Saga was a controversial angle in the comics where a number of Spider-Man clones emerged and it was left ambiguous if the original Peter Parker still remained. This kind of drama is unneeded in the MCU, but the idea of clones arriving does hold promise.

The third movie can introduce clones of the MCU Spider-Man, which can be incorporated as the workings of Mysterio, or presented as a way to discredit Spider-Man through his evil clones. Whatever it might, watching multiple versions of Spider-Man would be a real sight to behold.

3 Pavitra Prabhakar

Diversity isn’t an issue with the MCU anymore and it’s worth exploring the idea of an Indian Spider-Man. Of course, he’s also from an alternate universe, making it an easier transition for him to join forces with the MCU Spider-Man.

It can be a great way of showing how, despite their different backgrounds, they are both essentially the same person just from different dimensions. Plus, the prospect of incorporating Pavitr Prabhakar’s Spidey suit sounds like an interesting idea.

2 Spider-Ben

This is the Earth-3145 version of Spider-Man, where Peter died and it was Uncle Ben that got bit by the radioactive spider. The reason for his inclusion in the third movie isn’t to see him in action, but that it would finally bring Uncle Ben into the MCU.

The character hasn’t even been mentioned so far, but Spider-Ben’s inclusion can influence Peter Parker to remember his uncle and bond with this version in a way he never did with his own. It would be a heartwarming arc that can bring justice to the memory of Uncle Ben.

1 Sam Raimi Spider-Man

As of yet, The Amazing Spider-Man’s Peter Parker is expected to show up in the MCU. The Sam Raimi version’s status is still up in the air but is no doubt the Spider-Man everyone wants to see show up the most.

He was last seen in Spider-Man 3 on the way to mending his relationship with MJ -- who is also supposed to appear in the movie -- and maturing into an established hero. The MCU movie can finally confirm what Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man has been up to and even showcase what an aging version of the superhero is like.
