MBTI®: 5 Comedy Movies That ENTPs Will Love (& 5 They Will Hate)

The ENTP MBTI® Type is "the enterprising explorer," a clever, innovative, and resourceful person. ENTPs lead by example and approach relationships with an "iron sharpens iron" mentality.

They see creative possibilities and have a way with words. Knowing that one is a specific personality type, like the ENTP, can be helpful in understanding everyday decisions. Why do people like (or dislike) certain things? We want to find out. Here is a list of five comedy movies that ENTPs would love, and five they wouldn't fancy.

10 Love: The Wedding Planner (2001)

The Wedding Planner is an obvious choice for the ENTP. Jennifer Lopez's character, Mary Fiore, shows classic signs of being an ENTP. She is an astute professional wedding planner with a knack for making someone's wedding the most special day it can possibly be.

Mary has the energy and the brainpower to make a dream a reality. She learns firsthand that this can get complicated, but her happily ever after matters, too.

9 Hate: Confessions Of A Shopaholic (2009)

Some ENTPs have a tendency to overwork, which can be a major life stressor. That is why a workplace comedy like Confessions of a Shopaholic might be a no-go.

While Rebecca Bloomwood is some kind of a visionary, she deliberately places herself in precarious situations. ENTPs don't like an emphasis on personal problems, and these comprise much of Rebecca's life in the movie.

8 Love: Ice Princess (2005)

It's a delicate balance between passion, purpose, and plan. Disney's Ice Princess is a good ENTP movie because it hits the mark for both personal fulfillment and intelligent strategizing.

Any ENTP would appreciate Casey's connections between her physics brain and her love for ice skating. The family comedy is just the right mix to keep this personality type engaged. It is available to stream on Disney+ now.

7 Hate: Julie & Julia (2009)

Julie & Julia is a comedy-drama film for which ENTPs may not have the patience. A food blogger and a food legend are concurrently explored in their various time periods and locales.

The new opportunities presented to both of the lead females are exciting and worth telling, but there are a lot of details to keep up with, and that's not in the ENTP's nature. The weight of these two women's stories, though each has its lighthearted moments, is too big of a load for the ENTP to carry.

6 Love: Legally Blonde (2001)

ENTPs are often seen as independent people. They can hold their own in a debate and are stimulated by smart conversation. With this in mind, Legally Blonde is a good movie for the ENTP type.

Though Elle Woods has a long way to go at the beginning of the film, she buckles down and takes her law school tasks seriously. She has just the right touch of liveliness and the necessary measure of discipline to do what is right.

5 Hate: Sleepless In Seattle (1993)

An ENTP typically can think outside of the box. That's why Sleepless in Seattle is too predictable for this personality type.

Though the film is a classic, the ENTP might get bored with the storyline. It's obvious that Sam and Annie will eventually get together, and even the most romantic ending may not satisfy the "enterprising explorer."

4 Love: Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

Talk about a unique comedy for an innovative personality type! If the ENTP taps into that strategic and clever mindset, the personality would be fast friends with Ferris Bueller.

A swift ENTP may have had the audacity to play hooky at some point, and if not that, they may have used their talents to get out of something else. This experience makes the plot relatable, and its characters are on the same creativity level of the ENTP.

3 Hate: Sleepover (2004)

This 2000s teen comedy is likely to displease an ENTP. The film is about a girl named Julie who has just finished eighth grade. Unlike the ENTP, Julie is not so independent; she finds her mother overbearing and usually goes along with whatever her best friend is doing.

Though Julie finds her voice and gets the guy (with a lot of laughs along the way), the storyline borders on too many details and too much chaos for an ENTP.

2 Love: Isn't It Romantic? (2019)

Natalie has all the requisite qualities to please an ENTP. She is an architect, a career that is common for the ENTP.

Natalie also explores her life and goals in the least formulaic way possible, by exploiting the romantic comedy genre when she winds up in one herself. The Rebel Wilson treasure will not disappoint the ENTP personality.

1 Hate: Clueless (1995)

ENTPs love to make connections, but there are just not enough dots to connect in this one. Cher is a well-loved character in the '90s movie landscape, and she can be assertive at times, but she doesn't capture the intellectual exploration for which the ENTP is known.

Clueless will always have a prominent place in popular culture, but it's not something that this personality type would enjoy.
