Pretty Little Liars was the longest-running Freeform original series with seven seasons. The teen drama may have been one of the most successful shows on the network. It had a dedicated fanbase that followed the show for everything from the characters, relationships, mysteries, or just the craziness that existed within the universe. Each season gives more clues and hints into the overall, interconnected mysteries integrated within Rosewood. No character is safe from secrets, lies, or villains. Nearly everyone has something to hide, and part of the fun and intrigue of the series came with discovering everyone's secrets.

The final season of Pretty Little Liars centered around the last of the mysterious A's. AD had taken over the game as Spencer, Aria, Hanna, Emily, and Alison struggle to learn who the last A is. However, that is not all that is at stake. More surprising family secrets are revealed as everyone rushes to finish the game and survive AD's attack on their lives. The series finale had several reveals in store, including the identity of AD, also known as Alex Drake, Spencer Hastings' twin sister. While the last season included several plot twists and reveals, it did not live up to the success of previous seasons, and many fans did not like the identity of AD.

The entire season is broken up by a five-year time jump. The first half takes place while the Liars are in high school, coming close to the identity of Charles. From escaping an underground bunker to everything that follows, the girls try to move past the terrifying truth about what happened in the dollhouse.
Unfortunately, the reveal that Cece Drake is Charles and Charlotte did not sit well with fans. However, the second half of the season required the audience to play catch-up. Slowly, the truth unravels about what has happened over the years and why the stalking has started up again. Yet, it wasn't all a loss. A fan-favorite part of the season included the Liars' mothers bonding over wine and eventually getting stuck in Alison's basement.

Where it all began was one of the most significant seasons. Everything necessary for the series was introduced during the first season. From Alison's disappearance to finding Bethany's body in Allison's yellow shirt and the first messages from A. Some of the most relevant mysteries in the series were sparked in the first season. A year after Alison's disappearance, Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna have drifted apart, and it is the messages from A that bring them all back together. Even the possibility of Alison being alive is mentioned in the first season. The conversation of Alison being A is a part of the series, given that A knew things about them only Alison did.

Out of the entire fifth season, the most remembered part may have been "Welcome To The Dollhouse." The season finale took things up a notch, showing how well A knew the girls, including mimicking their bedrooms. However, another big moment from the fifth season brought Alison back to school, as she integrated back into everyone's lives. Mona's life is called into question when it looks like Alison had killed her. A had set up plenty of large scale plots to get the Liars arrested. By having Alison framed for Mona's murder, Hanna follows as an accomplice, and Spencer, Aria, and Emily go down too.
3 Season 3 (86%)
Fresh off of the reveal that Mona was A, the girls realize that things are not slowing down when a new A takes over the game. However, they are not alone. Along with A was the A-Team, made up of people who helped A succeed in torturing the girls.
Throughout the third season, Mona and Toby are revealed to be on the A-Team. However, Spencer had also joined to get answers about Toby. Just like previous seasons, the third gives hints about what happened to Alison the night she disappeared, giving a clue in the season three finale that Alison had reached out from under the dirt and had been buried alive.
2 Season 2 (87%)
Finally, A is revealed in the season finale. After spending two seasons chasing answers, the Liars discover that A had been Mona the entire time. Mona had used Alison's diaries and had been spying on the girls, keeping notes and a lair for herself. Season two was one of the high points in the show's history as it held the terror and suspects closest to the girls. One suspect included Melissa Hastings, who always seemed as if she knew more than she let on. Still early in its run, Pretty Little Liars still had plenty of room to grow as it continued to separate itself from its novel counterpart. Just like season one, season two was a substantial building block for what would follow in the next seasons as questions unraveled in the attempt to get more answers.
1 Season 4 (89%)
Season four is jam-packed with events from all directions. There is more than the A storyline occurring as the girls are also determined to learn the identity of Red Coat. One shock changes their lives forever when they finally learn that Alison is alive and what happened the night of her disappearance, at least the parts Alison knew. Yet, there is even more at stake. While Ezra was not A, he was involved in the stalking and spying on the girls. Ezra's reason was that he was working on a true crime book about Alison and had infiltrated their lives to gain information. The fourth season also introduced the show's first spin-off Ravenswood, a short-lived series that did not have the same pull as Pretty Little Liars.
