90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans think Ariela Weinberg’s close friendship with Leandro, her ex-husband spells trouble for her relationship with Biniyam Shibre. World traveler Ariela stumbled upon Biniyam while she was staying in Ethiopia for two months and soon became pregnant. On TOW season 1, Ariela gave birth to baby Avi amidst multiple fights with Biniyam but got engaged as well. Still, on the 90 Day Fiancé spinoff’s season 3, Ariela is homesick and has invited her husband to visit her, while revealing that Biniyam makes her feel isolated. Fans are worried that Ari being “so happy” about her ex visiting may cause her and Bini to split.
For those wondering if TLC is offering anything better with TOW or if it will give them burnout just like 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6 did, Ariela and Biniyam’s plot teases all things dramatic. During her previous season, Ariela cried about being alone with Biniyam and was unsatisfied with him for not giving her a comfortable life. "I don't know, I'm not looking forward to being alone with you. I'm not happy about it," Ariela had said. Biniyam, whose first wife had left him over a cheating accusation dancing in a club with a former girlfriend also gave Ariela reasons to not trust him wholly. This time around, Ariela is dealing with Biniyam leaving her and baby Aviel alone at home, somewhat similar to what her co-star Yara Zaya is dealing with in her relationship with Jovi Dufren.
Meanwhile, 90 Day Fiancé celeb Ariela has befriended her nanny, who listens to her bickering about Biniyam being out all night with his friends making like “very hard” for the Princeton, New Jersey, native in the process. But her one solution to tackle the loneliness was to call over her ex-husband who Ariela Weinberg was married to for 10 years. “We talk all the time, and he’s really involved in my life,” says Ariela in a clip she posted to her Instagram. And although Ariela rarely gets backlash on her IG posts, this time around, fans are mocking Ariela for her unusual decision. But as always, Ariela has her sassy replies ready for those criticizing. To a fan who said “an ex is an ex” and there was no need for Ariela to get Leandro to Ethiopia, she replied asking, “but then, what would you watch this season?”
A different fan wondered what Ariela would do if the tables turned and Biniyam was the one inviting his first wife into their home. “I guess you never watched last season,” Ariela laughed, reminding the fan of “Baby” Biniyam’s infamous club scene in 90 Day Fiancé. Ariela also noted that Biniyam’s ex visits them “frequently” so she isn’t sure why Leandro dropping by would be such a big deal. TLC viewers also made fun of Ariela by sarcastically calling her move “smart” since what if Biniyam was at home when her ex-hubby came for a visit. Some agreed with Ariela about having deep friendships which are so rare to find, especially when she’s starting out a new life in a new country.
Ariela has spoken about not having a set group of friends in Ethiopia yet, but Leandro has stayed involved in her life despite the divorce, or their separation before that which lasted for three years out of their decade-long marriage. The 90 Day Fiancé star Ariela admitted that she doesn’t have “deep friendships” in the US either, so Leandro’s efforts to stay in touch surely are praiseworthy. Still, Biniyam is scared of losing Ariela to the man, especially since his ex-wife Bria had abandoned him while taking their son Simon away. But Biniyam is also open to being good friends with Leandro, which is hopefully what will happen eventually in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3.
