Kanye West is under fire after the Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum welcomed Marilyn Manson and DaBaby to his third listening party in Donda. With Manson and DaBaby both being on the canceled list of celebrities due to their controversial allegations and/or comments, many spectators weren't feeling Kanye's public support of the rock and rap star. His ex-wife Kim Kardashian also made an appearance wearing a white wedding dress. But the backlash stems from the addition of Manson and DaBaby's inclusion in the show.
The rap/fashion mogul made media headlines over the week after hosting his third listening party for his highly-anticipated album Donda. Despite the album's one-month delay, music lovers continue to tune in to Kanye's listening parties to find out which songs he will tease and how he will show off his creative flair. After hosting two massive listening parties at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Kanye headed back to his hometown of Chicago to host a listening party that included a replica of his childhood home. Among the surprise guests included his superstar ex-wife Kim Kardashian, who came out wearing a white wedding gown as the former couple seemingly relived their wedding day. But Kim wasn't the only celebrity guest appearance.
In addition to Kim, who came out at the end of the show, Kanye had a session where rock star Marilyn Manson and DaBaby joined Kanye on the front stoop of his rebuilt childhood home at Chicago's Soldier Field. Manson has been at the center of controversy as he faces four sexual abuse lawsuits after being accused by more than 15 women of sexual assault. Sources for the rocker tell People that Manson is actually featured on Kanye's album. "Marilyn Manson's voice is featured on Donda, and he will continue to conceptually collaborate with Ye on the Donda project," a spokesperson said. Rapper DaBaby has also been under fire after he made homophobic comments at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami and doubled down on his controversial comments on Twitter. The rapper appears to have replaced Jay-Z's verse on the song "Jail" off the Donda album.
With Kanye featuring the two stars on stage with him at the third listening party, he left many of his fans puzzled while infuriating many others. "Kanye hanging out with Marilyn Manson on the stream is gross, not a good vibe," One user Marlboro Cameraman tweeted. "Can’t believe people are genuinely believing kanye trying “prove a point” which completely excuses what marilyn manson has done to several women," added another Twitter user Ben. "This isn’t about cancel culture and letting people learn, because when you have done what marilyn has done YOU SHOULD BE IN JAIL." Aside from Kim's appearance in a wedding dress, the inclusion of Manson and DaBaby appeared to supersede the reactions to Kim and Kanye's makeshift wedding amid their ongoing divorce.
This isn't the first Kanye has faced backlash for supporting controversial public figures. In 2016, Kanye began to publicly express his support for Donald Trump to the dismay of many of his fans. During Trump's presidency, Kanye also visited the White House and proudly wore a MAGA hat. The move, as with many Kanye has made, made him a topic of discussion for all the wrong reasons. But Kanye is used to controversy and appears to enjoy it. Good thing his Keeping Up With The Kardashians star wife came to save the day and steal the shine from Manson and DaBaby. Kanye will always do what he can to keep the people talking.
