Kanye West is reportedly fueling reconciliation rumors with Keeping Up With Kardashians star Kim Kardashian to compete with Drake's album release. The divorcing couple sent fans into a frenzy at Kanye's third listening party after Kim came out in a white gown and seemingly recreated their wedding day. Ahead of the event, insiders claimed Kim has no intention of getting back with the rap/fashion mogul. But it looks like Kanye has allegedly been saying otherwise in order to promote his upcoming album and potentially outsell his arch-nemesis Drake.
Drake and Kanye have been locked in an ongoing rap beef over the last decade with the two chart-topping emcees sending subliminal jabs at each other in recent years. Things came to a head recently when Drake released a rap verse that took a direct shot at Kanye and his age. Kanye responded by releasing a screenshot of a threatening text he sent Drake and also leaked the "Hotline Bling" rapper's Toronto address. It's been reported that Kanye has been purposely delaying the release of his Donda album in order to prevent Drake's highly-anticipated album release from going number one. Now as their potential album release dates approach, Kanye is apparently taking another jab to try and hinder the success of Drake's Certified Lover Boy.
After featuring Kim in his latest "performance art" listening party for Donda, Page Six reported it was Kanye's attempt at fueling reconciliation rumors to compete with Drake. “Kanye has been telling other rappers that he and Kim are back together, but everybody knows that isn’t true," a source told Page Six. “The real story is that Kanye wants to beat Drake in record sales, and he is putting on a big show of performance art to grab all the media attention.” Kim didn't mind playing along with Kanye's performance due to her support of his career and for the sake of their four children. The two have gotten on better terms in recent weeks after they "weren't talking for months" following Kim's divorce filing.
The reality star is doing what she can to maintain an amicable co-parenting relationship. “Kim is a nice person – while she and Kanye are not back together – she’s happy to support him in his work and his art, she wants a good relationship with him for the sake of their children," the insider added. It's the love and "deep history" Kim and Kanye share that is also helping them while "rebuilding their friendship," another source said. They have also been enjoying private time together as a family with their four children. Kim has been seen front row at all three of Kanye's listening parties along with their kids.
While they have no plans of getting back together, Kim and Kanye still share a "love of the press" and Kim will always be on board with whatever will bring Kanye money because it will, of course, go to their children. With Drake and Kanye's album releases approaching, it's only a matter of time before Kanye finds out if his three massive listening parties will help him beat his competitor for the number one spot on Billboard. Losing the feat would be another suffering blow to the Yeezy founder after losing the 2020 presidential election and divorcing from the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star. At least he has Kim by his side supporting him through all of his last-minute performance art pieces.
