10 Least Festive Christmas Movies That Even A Scrooge Would Love
It's the most wonderful time of the year, but for some, the Christmas films that are paraded out every December have all become a bit much. Considering people flock to certain films for the festive period, there aren't many alternatives out there.
But even the Scrooges can get behind some of these cinematic classics that happen to be perfect for the Christmas season, without actually being straight up films made for the holidays. From family favorites to action films that somehow managed to align themselves with Santas and sleighs, there's a little something for everyone amongst these hits.
10 Mean Girls (2004)
Mean Girls has very obvious connections to Christmas thanks to its iconic dance sequence, but the film is so much more than the festive period. In fact, it's probably one of the most beloved teen films of all time.
People still wear pink on Wednesdays thanks to the influence of a film that has come to define many teenage years. With huge stars like Lindsey Lohan and Amanda Seyfried, this charming film is perfect for anyone who wants to relive the 2000s this December.
9 Die Hard (1988)
There's a constant debate over whether Die Hard really is a Christmas film. There's certainly no debate whatsoever though over whether the film could be considered an action classic. It launched Bruce Willis to the next level and has always been heralded as one of the greats.
Plus, since it can just about get away with being a Christmas movie, it's one for the action lovers who don't fancy watching Elf once again and instead want to enjoy one of the career-defining performances of the late Alan Rickman.
8 Iron Man 3 (2013)
With no other Christmas films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Iron Man 3 perhaps comes the closest to bringing some festive cheer. It's hardly a surprise that the third installment in the franchise when this route, considering Shane Black is the director.
While there may be a lot of arguments over whether the movie is actually fantastic or ruined by that controversial twist, the minor Christmas scenes definitely give Marvel fans an excuse to skip The Knight Before Christmas and enjoy some Tony Stark action instead.
7 Rise Of The Guardians (2012)
One of the most underrated movies from DreamWorks, the visually striking Rise of the Guardians wowed audiences by bringing together classic fantasy characters like the Easter Bunny, Sandman and Santa Claus, in a thrilling family adventure.
Based on the classic novel The Guardians of Childhood, the movie has just enough festive elements but also takes them in a completely new direction. With a completely stacked cast, Alec Baldwin's Santa is unlike anything in cinema today.
6 Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
The Harry Potter franchise can be and should be enjoyed at any time of the year, but something about the Sorcerer's Stone feels a little extra Christmassy. Perhaps it's the long sequences playing wizard chess in the Great Hall, or the snowy fields that surround the castle.
The movie is a great family classic and for fans of the series in the UK, it's also a film that seems to be featured on TV on repeat throughout the festive period. Plus, the movie really captures the magic of the season in a unique way.
5 Frozen (2013) And Frozen 2 (2019)
Frozen and its sequel Frozen 2 were never meant to be Christmas films. Sure there are festive spin-offs featuring the same characters, but the sequel was even released in the middle of summer; of course only matching that original summery song.
Due to the movies finding their inspiration in the story of the Ice Queen, it's difficult not to connect the reindeer and snow to Christmas. For families that haven't had this move played on a constant loop throughout the year though, December may be a great time to visit Arrendelle once again.
4 Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005)
Another Shane Black classic and this is perhaps one of his most famous incidences of using Christmas as part of the narrative despite the plot not necessarily calling for it. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is also the film that helped secure Robert Downey Jr's role as Iron Man!
For murder mystery fans and those who love a bit of extra violence to break up this joyful period of time, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang contains the blood and gore of great action films, while also adding in some crime elements linked to a few big twists.
3 Batman Returns (1992)
Tim Burton may be linked to a different film that's part Halloween, part Christmas, but fans of his work seem to overlook the Yule time elements included within Batman Returns. The Penguin can already be considered to be a festive foe.
But linked with the huge Christmas tree, Alfred's shopping trip, and the snowy scene across the city and suddenly it becomes clear that this is Burton's take on how Gotham would celebrate the time of year. Of course the holidays do not stop Bruce Wayne from suiting up and probably should stop fans from watching!
2 The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (2005)
The Narnia series may have petered out before all of the novels could be adapted, but it was not intended to be a Christmas franchise. However, the first installment is the perfect wintery movie for the family to enjoy.
With a magical world inside a wardrobe that has been taken over by the White Witch, this is a fantasy epic unlike any other. Let's not forget that a version of Santa Claus actually turns up in the film, although the gifts he dishes out aren't exactly child friendly.
1 Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia; they are all characters that have somehow become associated with Christmas. Perhaps it's the recent winter release dates for the new Star Wars films, or maybe it's the mania linked to the toys back when the movies were first released which made every parent dread going to the store.
Empire Strikes Back seems especially festive, because despite its grim ending the movie does open up on the snowy planet of Hoth, which is just brilliant for the winter season. There's certainly plenty of households that have come to visit the galaxy far far away as a yearly tradition.

10 Ghibli Animation Creatures That Are Almost Too Creepy To Look At
One of the most accomplished filmmakers in the history of animation is Hayao Miyazaki. He literally does it all! He is a producer, story writer, manga artist, screenwriter, director, and of course, the co-founder of Studio Ghibli. One of his many talents is creating the creatures that take roles in his animations. Some might be cute like the characters in My Neighbor Totoro but many others are actually disturbing to look at and even scary.
It's safe to say that some of these animations are so creepy they can actually spook viewers into feeling uneasy about the stories. Still, most fans cannot get enough from Studio Ghibli and the amazing detailed work put into the film animations. Check out these animated Ghibli creatures that are way too creepy.
10 Demon Nago: Princess Mononoke
For anyone who has been fooled by the title of this animation, it comes as a shock to see one of the opening scenes of Princess Mononoke be of a scary demon boar running rampant near a village. The boar is a God-Boar turned demon after it was infected making it full of hate and rage. The animated movie has a lot of interesting characters who can be quite intimidating including a pack of magical boars and other forest creatures. Demon Nago definitely takes the prize for the most haunting creature in the story and for most viewers, he is the one creepy image that lingers after watching the film.
9 Yubaba: Spirited Away
The movie Spirited Away has been one of Japanese director Miyazaki's greatest works. The title may be one of his most famously known projects and for good reason. The storyline is elaborate and the characters are stunning.
One of the main characters in the film is Yubaba the mistress of a bathhouse that tends to spirits and Gods who visit her bathhouse to get a wash and have some entertainment. Her position doesn't seem creepy at all but once the viewer sees what her true form is and how her physical features are abnormally exaggerated behind those pronounced wrinkles, she can be very intimidating.
8 Oh Mu: Nausicaä Of The Valley Of The Wind
The creatures in the animation Nausicaä of The Valley of the Wind are all meant to resemble kinds of mutated insects. The concept follows human greed and the poison that humans send off into the environment which contaminates and affects all living creatures, nature, and the atmosphere. The character Oh Mu is an invertebrate that looks like a huge roach-like creature. The creature can communicate with a hive and can also sense when an insect is killed causing it to go into a rage which can be dangerous for humans. The creature has 14 eyes and bleeds blue blood making them seem way too creepy to be liked but the human characters eventually convince audiences that the Oh Mus are not as scary as they appears.
7 The Forest Spirit: Princess Mononoke
Here is a God of life and death that is known as The Night-Walker or The Forest Spirit. In the story of Princess Mononoke, it is known by most of the story characters that the forest spirit should not be disturbed and that he is rarely seen in his animal form while drinking from a lake of healing waters. The plot is very intense and touches on a lot of good human concepts. Though the creature itself is not scary, it is a very abnormal-looking forest deer and at night it transforms into a gigantic spirit creature that carries the form of what looks like a dinosaur. It can be very disturbing to see the character's different forms, but more disturbing is the appearance of it once the humans come and cut off its head.
6 Cob: Tales From Earthsea
The 2006 fantasy animation Tales From Earthsea carries a very intruding plot with a magical wizard named Sparrowhawk who sets out to save the world from chaos and destruction. The evil antagonist named Cob is on a quest for ultimate power and immortality. Cob will stop at nothing to get what he wants, even if it means destroying Earthsea. The character Cob appears to be an ominous-looking man but his dark magic transformations make him very perplexing to look at.
5 Howlbird: Howl's Moving Castle
Howl from Howl's Moving Castle is in reality a likable character in the animation, especially when Sophie is introduced into his life. He is passive and distracted most of the time but once the viewer realizes that Howl is under a curse which could turn him into a monstrosity, one can't help but to want to see his dark form.
Howlbird is one of the creepier animated creatures from Ghibli because the human-demon concept can be very freaky and Howl in his creature form is quite startling.
4 No-Face: Spirited Away
Spirited Away has many spirit characters and one of those characters is called No-Face who appears to be a ghost-creature with no face, only a mask on, and no voice. At first, the creature is almost cute as it tries to befriend the main character, a little girl named Chihiro. After a story twist, No-Face attempts to attack Chihiro chasing her through the bathhouse and devouring people to take on their personas. No-Face is not only very unsettling in its appearance but also in its behaviors as you never know if it is a friend or a foe.
3 Lord Okkoto: Princess Mononoko
The next in line to become the leader of the boar pack after Nago the boar-God dies is Lord Okkoto. Okkoto is convinced that humans are to blame for all things destructive and after getting infected by the same demonic hatred as Nago, he charges with his boar army infecting many along his way to kill the humans. The entire appearance of Okkoto as his infection grows is very creepy to witness and even more creepy still when Princess Mononoke herself gets trapped in his hide full of gooey mini-demons trying to suffocate her.
2 River Spirit: Spirited Away
The River Spirit in Spirited Away shows itself in more than one form. As the old man's floating face and as the filthy stink spirit that visits the bathhouse. Both of these animated depictions are freakishly startling in their own ways.
The stinky one is horrifying with its appearance being a big mass of glop and goop spreading its waste everywhere it steps. The other is an old man's extremely wrinkled face hoovering as its deep voice echoes. Viewers can decide which form is creepier.
1 Dragon: Tales From Earthsea
The 2006 Studio Ghibli released animated film Tales From Earthsea has many interesting characters such as wizards, evil lords, witches, and dragons. The story of the dragons is that they live too far away from human settlements and are never seen. In the plot, it is learned that dragons have been reportedly seen near civilian life and have been violent. Dragons of course are already scary creatures. When viewers take a look at the dragons in Tales From Earthsea it will definitely send chills.

Monster Hunter: Everything We Know About The Movie (So Far)
Video game movies may not have the best reception, but recent hits changed things for the better. Looking to continue this upward trend is live-action adaptation of the hit Capcom game franchise Monster Hunter, coming from the husband/wife team of director Paul W.S. Anderson and action star Milla Jovovich.
In more ways than the obvious, Monster Hunter is going to be a very different adaptation. The trailers showed fans just enough of this new vision, but not everything has been revealed. Assuming that no unforeseen circumstances occur, Monster Hunter is set to hit theaters on December 25, 2020.
10 American Soldiers Go To The Monster Hunter World
The most contentious revelation about Monster Hunter is its plot, which bears no resemblance to any game in the franchise. The movie will follow Capt. Natalie Artemis (Jovovich), a US Army Ranger whose unit stumbles upon a portal to the world of Monster Hunter. Canonically, the movie occurs after Monster Hunter: World.
Anderson’s logic for this is that a wholly original cast and story is the perfect gateway for audiences to the games’ world instead of using an established character. Time will tell if this was the right call or otherwise but as of this writing, the fanbase has been mockingly comparing the movie to lowbrow isekai anime.
9 The Monster Hunter Language May Be Used
The Monster Hunter games take place in a fantasy world filled with different races and creatures, so it makes sense that the humans living there would have their own unique language. While the trailers have yet to show someone speaking a full sentence using the in-game dialect, it wouldn’t be surprising if The Hunter (Tony Jaa) spoke this way.
So far, trailers showed The Hunter and Capt. Artemis struggling with their language barrier. The only things they understand are the monsters’ names and some simple gestures. The biggest hint at the language’s use was the trailer for Natalie’s in-game skin for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, where Admiral (more on him later) approaches her while talking in the in-universe tongue.
8 Milla Jovovich Has An In-Game Skin
Capt. Artemis doesn’t appear anywhere in the games, but Capcom has seen fit to retroactively fix this. In the Artemis “Monster Hunter” Movie Quest two-part Event Quest that’s coming on December 4, 2020, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne players will get to play as Capt. Artemis. Not only will they receive exclusive movie tie-in items, but they’ll get to see how the movie and games connect.
This is a step up for Jovovich, as far as her video game movies go. Though she headlines the Resident Evil series as Alice, she never appeared in the games before or after the movies. Capt. Artemis’ DLC marks Jovovich’s video game debut.
7 Milla Jovovich Chose Capt. Artemis' Weapons
If you go to the comments section of any Monster Hunter trailer, it won’t be too hard to find jokes about Capt. Artemis’ poor choice of weapons and armor. One scene fans took notice of was Capt. Artemis using fiery Dual Blades against the fire-resistant Rathalos, which is a dumb in-game move, to put it nicely. Another was her charging into a boss battle wearing what looks like low-level armor.
These inconsistencies aren’t accidental; in fact, they were Jovovich’s choices. To help herself get in character, Jovovich picked weapons and armor that she used in-game. She grew a fondness for the Dual Blades, which she described as “beautiful” when used in combat. Also, she scored more kills when using them.
6 The Director Is A Big Monster Hunter Fan
Anderson is no stranger to video games, getting his start with Mortal Kombat before defining his career with Resident Evil. It should come as no surprise that Monster Hunter also happens to be one of his favorite games, and adapting it was one of his passion projects. As early as 2008, Anderson planned a Monster Hunter movie and pitched it many times. By 2016, Capcom finally agreed to let him helm the adaptation.
Anderson being a fan informed his different take on Monster Hunter, as he’s more interested in recapturing the excitement of the games while giving older fans something new yet familiar instead of just recreating cutscenes. When looking back at his previous video game works, Anderson says that Monster Hunter is the most invested he’s ever been.
5 Some In-Game Characters Will Appear
Just because Monster Hunter is an original story doesn’t mean that none of the franchise’s beloved characters will appear. So far, The Hunter, The Admiral (Ron Perlman), The Handler (Hirona Yamazaki), and Meowscular Chef (plus probably more Palicoes) were confirmed in the trailers.
Additionally, the player character will be in the movie, somewhat. According to Anderson, he wrote Capt. Artemis to be grounded, from the real world and foreign to the Monster Hunter world, theoretically giving her a more tangible connection with players. Basically, she’s a fresh new player character who’s just experiencing the in-game world for the first time.
4 There Are Only 6 Monsters, At Best
In a revelation that’s bound to anger Monster Hunter fans, the movie only uses a whopping five or six monsters. So far, the trailers showed Diablos (left) and Rathalos (right), leaving the others to be discovered. While purists would find an issue with this, there are some practical reasons for the limited monster count.
Logistically, it would be too expensive for just one movie to adapt all the Monster Hunter creatures. Of the hundreds of fantastical beasts, Anderson decided to focus on six. He also said that the movie (which is intended to be the start of a franchise) is just “scratching the surface,” leaving the door open for other iconic behemoths to make the cinematic leap in the future.
3 The Game’s Developers Had Hands-On Involvement
Understandably, Monster Hunter fans were worried and even pissed when the trailers featured soldiers firing guns at Diablos. The movie didn’t look anything like the games, leading some to fear that this was another case of Hollywood bastardizing a game. Luckily, the opposite is true.
The games’ producer Ryozo Tsujimoto (above, right) and director Kaname Fujioka (above, left) were onboard every step of the way, keeping an eye on every creative decision Anderson made. From the monsters’ movements to the items used and even to the locations chosen, Monster Hunter’s key developers made sure the movie did their famous games justice.
2 A Sequel Is Already Being Written
Monster Hunter has yet to hit theaters and yet, Anderson is already writing a sequel as early as now. While a franchise spawning from a video game movie isn’t unheard of, this may come off as a bit surprising due to how fast the production of a follow-up to a currently unreleased movie is.
In an interview, Jovovich revealed that her husband was already writing another story set in his Monster Hunter universe. Details are (obviously) scarce, but it’s safe to assume that Capt. Artemis will return in some fashion. After all, Jovovich is excited for Monster Hunter and would love to do another one.
1 The Original Concept Was More Kid-Friendly
As polarizing as having soldiers in a humvee shoot Greater Rathalos may be, the original version of Monster Hunter would’ve undoubtedly been more controversial. In early drafts, Anderson actually envisioned the movie to be a family friendly affair starring a kid. Here, 16-year-old Lucas is dragged into the parallel universe of Monster Hunter, where he would be trained to fight the creatures so that their forthcoming invasion of the modern world can be stopped.
Anderson stuck with this concept for some time before scrapping it altogether, feeling that the young adult craze was oversaturated. This convinced him to switch genres and go for a more adventurous military-themed story in the vein of Avatar and Raiders of the Lost Ark. While Monster Hunter’s current state doesn’t inspire confidence in the entire fanbase, it’s better than its previous inception that could’ve gone as well as The Dark Tower did.

It was their friend Brandy who got so drunk that she needed medical assistance, but Helen was far more concerned with chef Adrian Martin - and she wasn’t just interested in his cooking! Hoey even talked Adrian into handing over his email address by saying that she wanted to take private cooking lessons from him.
9 Georgia Ricks
Another guest who made a repeat appearance on Below Deck was Georgia Ricks, the down-to-earth businesswoman from Ireland. She and her friends certainly knew how to throw a party, and Georgia was insistent that Captain Lee Rosbach join in their fun. The captain seems to be irresistible to a certain type of older lady, and this was the case with flirty Georgia after she had downed a few complimentary cocktails. Captain Lee has been happily married to his wife Mary Ann for 45 years, so there is no chance of him being tempted by any of the guests.
8 Lyndi Kennedy
Social media influencer Lyndi Kennedy appeared on Below Deck to enjoy a luxury break with her friends and then-boyfriend Jesse. However, it seems that Lyndi was more interested in chef Adam Glick than her real partner and spent much of the cruise hanging out in the kitchen.
Later in the show, Jesse got down on one knee and proposed to Lyndi on the beach, though the answer was a hard no. Maybe Lyndi was already thinking about what was going to be served for dinner that night…
7 Cynthia Bailey and Claudia Jordan
There have been quite a few famous faces who we have seen taking luxury cruises on Below Deck, including Atlanta “Real Housewives” Cynthia Bailey and Claudia Jordan. Yet again, it was Captain Lee who caught the ladies’ eyes, and both Claudia and Cynthia were delighted to join him on the deck and pull off a few sexy poses for their Instagram. While flirty, they at least kept a respectable distance, and the whole crew was pleasantly surprised that the Housewives hadn’t been divas onboard the Eros.
6 Kelsey
In a lot of cases, the flirty attention from guests have been unwanted by the Below Deck crew, but there have been a few occasions when the feelings have been reciprocated. Guest Kelsey made it very clear that she was interested in bosun Kelley Johnson, and it was equally clear that Kelley also found her very attractive. The rules about crew and guests fraternizing meant that he had to behave himself while on board, but they did keep in touch for a while after the show.
5 Hannah Yu
There was also some heavy two-way flirting between guest Hannah Yu and deckhand Robert Westergaard in season 5. Rob came to Hannah’s rescue when she was stung by a jellyfish, and the pretty brunette was enjoying the attention.
There was just one problem; Westergaard was supposed to be in a relationship with fellow crew member Jess, something which he didn’t bother mentioning to Hannah or her friends while they were on board or when the two groups later bumped into each other at a club onshore.
4 McCall Sink
McCall Sink may sound like a made-up name, but it was the very real moniker of a very lively Below Deck guest in season 7, who turned up for a luxury cruise with a group of girlfriends. Women, drink, and a sexy deckhand like Ashton Pienaar is not a great combination, and Ashton spends most of the cruise being catcalled. Somehow the former male dancer gets talked into giving McCall and the girls an X-rated private striptease which only makes them even more excitable.
3 Megan
Flirty guest Megan was a friend of Helen Hoey, who has already appeared on this list, and she was another passenger who ended up enamored with Captain Lee. Megan was one of a couple of guests who paid a rather drunken visit to the bridge, before proceeding to get very close and personal with Captain Lee, despite his best efforts to put them off.
2 Lynn Schuster
Yet another fan of Captain Lee, Lynn Schuster was at least well-behaved and respectful compared to some of the other women who set their sights on the nautical silver fox! She and her pals had a great time sneaking around the yacht to try and catch a glimpse of Captain Lee without his shirt on, before sitting down to a well-lubricated Italian meal with the Stud of the Sea. It seems that on this occasion Captain Lee enjoyed the good-humored flirting just as much as the guests.
1 Lisa
Below Deck has a spin-off show set in the Mediterranean, and it seems that the guests are no better behaved when they head to Europe. One group of ladies took a shine to a couple of members of the crew, especially Jack and Travis. Lead guest Lisa put on a rather explicit yoga demonstration for Jack before she and her pals started to get very touchy-feely with the deckhand, whose girlfriend was also on board the ship. In the end, Jack had to be saved by Captain Sandy Yawn before things got too heated.

In a show chockfull of multiple realities, fatalities are nevertheless still felt enough to have a lasting impact on the main characters. Some of the time, anyway.
The following ten are prime examples of sad, or forgotten, deaths that occurred during (or even because of) a classic Rick and Morty adventure. Some may even walk the fine line of what would constitute an actual "death" in the real world or not. But save the deep-dive discussions for Thanksgiving dinner. For within the many universes of Rick and Morty, all rules and logic are thrown out the window. Belch.
10 Sad: Fart
Goodbye, Moon Man.
In Season 2's "Mortynight Run," Morty befriends a telepathic, gaseous, being prone to breaking out in song, Davie Bowie-style. In only 21 short minutes, Morty and audiences alike grew quite enamored with Jermaine Clement's one-off character. To the point where, even though his termination was rendered inevitable considering his desire to cleanse the universe of all carbon-based life forms, his death still resonates. And we say goodbye!
9 Forgotten: Krombopulos Michael
Soon after Morty accidentally crushes the Gromflomite professional killer to death while landing the ship, Fart was introduced - thereby erasing any guilt Morty may have manifested.
A few "Goodbye Moon Man" renditions later, and fans are still wondering who exactly 'Moon Man' is. Is it Fart's actual title? Or his term of affection for Morty as they bid each other farewell? Or perhaps, since they were singing the departure-laden tune before parting ways, Krombopulous Michael was Moon Man all along..
8 Sad: Roy

At Blitz' in Chips, not only did Rick "get to be in the commercial!" He also introduced Morty to the virtual reality life simulator arcade game programmed to adjust its titular character's life path based on decisions made by the participant. Unconsciously so, Morty lost himself in helping Roy beat cancer, then return to the carpet store and finally plummet to his ladder fall-for-a-death in this, yet another sad casualty that makes "Mortynight Run" as emotion-provoking as an otherwise super-fun season premiere can get.
7 Forgotten: Tax Attorney
Sick 'em. Demons.
When it comes to absurd non-sequiturs, nothing tops Justin Roiland's much-beloved "riffing" sessions. One notable "Interdimensional Cable" moment involved a subpar observational standup comedian heckling a tax attorney.
The subsequent removal of said tax attorney - almost immediately relabeled "the orthodontist " - by way of killer dogs and spiritual forces provided more laughter than it did clarity for audiences. That somewhere, in some universe, a comedian grew so insecure that he killed a man mid-set, and continued because it actually played.
6 Sad: Sleepy Gary
He may have been a parasite; but Sleepy Gary was the love of Jerry's life. Full stop.
No slouch in the elevated TV clip show department, co-showrunner Dan Harmon - who did much of the same for Community a few years earlier - delivered an even wackier flashback-driven narrative built entirely on never-seen, and now-actually fake memories. So what if he was not real after all? He and Beth would still need time to recover nonetheless. As did audiences.
5 Forgotten: Davin
What sets Rick and Morty apart from the rest is their ability to throw away beats - like an intra-office flirtation - that could have lasted forever, especially in an ageless animated program. Case in point: Davin's demise in "Rick Potion No. 9."
No matter how deeply connected this episode is within the rich lore of the show, there is no denying "Mr. Crowbar" sent Davin someplace where he and his aspirations of cuckoldry have not been thought of for multiple seasons.
4 Sad: Rick’s Creation
Tear-filled devastation oozes out of Rick in the closing scene of season 2's "Auto Erotic Assimilation" following his break-up with toxic romantic partner, the collective-based, all planet-encompassing Unity.
Thus, when Rick creates alien life in the garage just to take it away, it is clearly meant to symbolize the mess he chose to get himself into with the life he leads, and the partners he has chosen along the way. A rare vulnerable Rick moment not chased with humor, but with Chao Chaos' "Do You Feel It?" instead.
3 Forgotten: Jerry
In the underrated "Interdimensional Cable II: Tempting Fate," a hospitalized Jerry tries to avoid donating his most private part to save Shrimply Pipples, the galaxy's foremost civil rights leader. When matters come to a fatal blow, the Smith family gutwrenchingly witness what a Jerry gun-down would look like. Thankfully, alien hospitals are capable of reversing tragedy with a procedure that's "like getting a splinter removed." Just another anecdote to dish about at the dinner table.
2 Sad: Birdperson
Morty might be Rick's partner-in-crime, but Birdperson was his "person."
In Season 2's Red Wedding-inspired "The Wedding Squanchers," Tammy revealed herself as a deep cover Galactic Federation agent just before slaying her husband, Birdperson, dead. He would be revived in a Darth Vaderian manner as Phoenixperson in the post-credit, and "return" via the train Rick and Morty want you to ride in season 4; however, this signaled the death of Rick's most trusted sage in the form he was known best.
1 Forgotten: Rick and Morty
Sure, many Rick and Mortys have died. But it should not be understated that not every Rick and Morty corpse is buried in Earth C-137 Rick and Morty's backyard.
Though obviously remembered, the time required to properly assess the show through the lens of its deeper lore has not been made by many. Those who - due to the grotesque-looking, Cronenberg mantis species' understandable unease on the eyes - choose not to revisit "Rick Potion No. 9" as often as they should.
