Warning: contains spoilers for Fantastic Four #30
The Fantastic Four is considered Marvel's first family so they're no stranger to bad guys, but thanks to the King In Black storyline, they are about to take on their most dangerous enemies yet - themselves! The alien symbiote god Knull has invaded Earth and is quickly taking everything over, including New York City, and he has now infected Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm. They are together and heading right for the team's Yancy Street headquarters, ready to take on Reed Richards and Sue Storm.
Previously in the King In Black saga, the Fantastic Four were separated while battling symbiote dragons that Knull had unleashed on the city of New York. While Reed and Sue made it back home, Ben and Johnny did not. The Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic are aware that Johnny was taken over by the King In Black, but are under the impression their good friend Ben was still on their side and uninfected. Luckily for them, Spider-Man has seen the Thing out in the streets and warns the couple that he too has become Knullified.
In Fantastic Four #30, written by Dan Slott with art by Ze Carlos, the remaining team members will have to face off with their now symbiote-controlled allies. Reed admits to Susan that this might be their most dangerous threat to date, saying two of their greatest enemies are on the way to their home. These are the two people in the entire world who know the best ways to hurt them. This is really bad for Reed and Sue, as Knull is sure to use everything these two know about the Fantastic Four and their home to take them down.
Johnny and Ben know exactly where the one weak spot of their defense grid is and they are heading right for it. Mr. Fantastic points out that Ben knows all of their security measures and that is something Knull can take advantage of through him, which is very likely to happen. Not only that, they know Sue and Reed's weaknesses in a battle as well, so should this come to a two-on-two battle, Johnny and Ben are the likely winners. Sue and Reed love their friends and family, which means they would probably be afraid to hurt them if it comes down to it, even if they are under Knull's control.
Mr. and Mrs. Fantastic prepare themselves for battle against their worst enemies, but fans will know how hard it will be for them to do what is necessary to take down their loved ones, even if they are Knullified. The King In Black is not known for pulling his punches, and will surely take advantage of everything Johnny and Ben know about their teammates. See how it all plays out when Fantastic Four #30 hits stores and digital platforms on April 14.
