Harry Potter Art Imagines Daniel Radcliffe’s Wizard as a Terrifying Zombie

A piece of Harry Potter fan art imagines Daniel Radcliffe’s character as a terrifying zombie. The Harry Potter series is one of the most well-known franchises in history, and it all started back in 1997 when J.K. Rowling published Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Warner Bros. was quick to see the potential for a film franchise, releasing their first movie with Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson in 2001. In total, Rowling released seven books in the main series and was also involved in all eight movies Warner Bros. released between 2001 and 2011.

The franchise is still expanding today, with Fantastic Beasts 3 arriving in theaters in July 2022, starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander. As the title suggests, the first two movies introduced viewers to several new creatures, including Bowtruckles, Demiguises, and Nifflers, to name a few. Of course, the eight main Harry Potter movies had their fair share of beasts, monsters, and mythical as well, with Dementors often being considered one of the scariest creatures in the series.

But now, there is a new creature to be afraid of thanks to elilusionista.cl. The artist took one of pop culture’s most famous characters and infused a horror element by turning him into a zombie. Radcliffe’s character can be seen with his Gryffindor robes while casting a charm and his scar glowing green. elilusionista.cl also included a nice touch by having a snake go through the side of Harry's face.

The Harry Potter movies have stuck fairly close to Rowling’s books which means that zombies likely won’t ever make their way into a Harry Potter movie. On the other hand, Warner Bros. could realistically bring back Radcliffe, along with Watson (Hermione) and Grint (Ron). In 2016, a play called Harry Potter: The Cursed Child was released on Broadway. With the story being there and Harry Potter being such a lucrative franchise for Warner Bros., it’s very possible the original cast could return for a film or TV adaptation. Earlier this year it was reported that a live-action Harry Potter show was coming to HBO Max, fueling rumors that an adaptation of The Cursed Child may finally be coming.

Fans have been creating custom Harry Potter art since the late '90s, and it has become easier and easier to share artwork online in the last 20+ years thanks to multiple social media outlets. Fans have created everything from different characters in romantic relationships to other “what if” type scenarios. Professional artist Jim Kay is also illustrating all of Rowling’s Harry Potter books and currently has four out of seven released. Harry Potter art likely won’t ever stop given the popularity of the Wizarding World, but turning the iconic wizard into a zombie was a clever yet simple idea.
