Leave it up to Selling Sunset star Mary Fitzgerald to dish on how Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim revealed their new romance at work. With Jason openly dating one of his real estate agents, viewers have wondered how this new romance will affect their work dynamic. Jason is one of the owners of The Oppenheim Group where Chrishell and Mary work. According to Mary, the pair maintained business as usual while only letting a select few know about their relationship status.
The fans were shocked when Chrishell and Jason announced their relationship late last month. It's the second relationship for Chrishell since finalizing her divorce from This is Us star Justin Hartley, and the second time that fans know of Jason dating one of his employees. Mary and Jason have been open about their past dating history that ended years ago, and they decided to stay good friends. In recent years, viewers have speculated whether Jason and Mary were still involved despite her marriage to Romain Bonnet. However, once Chrishell confirmed that she's dating Jason, Mary was in the clear and free from all the rumors.
Most recently, Selling Sunset star Mary Fitzgerald expressed her support for Jason Oppenheim and Chrishell Stause's budding romance. "I am totally supportive, I love them together! They are so cute and they really complement each other," Mary told OK!. She also revealed how only "some people" at the Oppenheim Group were aware of Jason and Chrishell's romance, while others were left in the dark. "Some of the people [in the agency] didn't know until they announced it [on Instagram] but there were some people that knew and they could tell," Mary revealed. With some of the cast finding out the news with the rest of the world, it's likely to stir up some in-office drama that could spill over into the show.
Alas, Mary is just happy that she's no longer being accused of cheating on her husband with her boss. She's actually the one who encouraged the pair to go public with their relationship during their couple's vacation in Italy. "I think people suspected that they were very close and wondered but they didn't know," Mary added. "We were in Positano [Italy] when they announced it and we were like: 'Do it, do it!'" She has referred to Jason as her best friend and also shared how close she's gotten to Chrishell since she joined the Oppenheim Group. While they were all vacationing together, Mary explained how their reveal helped the new couple enjoy their trip in peace. "I am glad they did it there because they got to experience our vacation together without hiding anything," she said.
On the show, Mary has had issues with some of her co-stars accusing her of being Jason's favorite. With Mary being one of the agency's top-performing agents and the ex and best friend of Jason, it's easy to assume why Jason might favor her over the others. But now that Jason is dating Chrishell, Mary says her co-star can take all the heat now. In turn, Selling Sunset fans are eager to dive into season 4 as the cast continues to film two new seasons. Chrishell and Jason definitely have a lot of explaining to do.
