Kris Jenner has been accused of harassing her former bodyguard, Marc McWilliams. The ex-security guard filed a lawsuit against Kris that claims she continuously behaved in an inappropriate and unethical manner.
Marc was hired in May of 2017 to provide security for the Keeping Up with the Kardashians stars, Kris Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian. His employment agreement was a joint venture between Kris and a private security company located in Calabasas, California. In addition to the family’s momager, Kourtney has been named as a defendant in the lawsuit. McWilliams claims that he endured racial and gender discrimination in addition to harassment and a hostile work environment during his employment with the Kardashian Jenner family. Kris has denied all allegations made against her.
According to The Blast, Marc described his ethnicity as African American and claims he was, “routinely subjected to discrimination based upon race” during his employment. In a shocking allegation against Kris, he said he endured a, “persistent and shocking pattern of harassment and gender discrimination.” McWilliams also stated that Jenner was responsible for, “repeatedly and frequently causing her body to come into intimate physical contact” with his body. After the events Marc supposedly endured, the security guard claims he notified Kris that her advances were unwelcome and asked her to stop any further misconduct. McWilliams states that the behavior didn’t stop so he brought the issue to the security company’s HR department. The HR team didn’t do anything about the problem, as per the lawsuit. The alleged victim claimed he was eventually suspended from working with Jenner, but continued to provide security services for Kourtney.
On September 12, 2018, Marc was terminated and he immediately filed a claim with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing. It’s implied that the Kardashian Jenner legal team became aware of the lawsuit before it was filed because the defendants allegedly engaged in, “harassment, intimidation and otherwise threatening misconduct in an effort to dissuade or prevent [Marc] from bringing any form of action.”
The lawsuit does not yet include an exact amount for damages. Marty Singer, the Kardashian’s lawyer, made the following statement: “The security guard worked outside the house and he never even went into Kris’s house. Furthermore, Kris had very little interaction with him. After the guard was repeatedly caught sleeping in his car while on the job, the security company was asked not to assign him to work there in the future. Significantly, the guard never made any complaints to his employer about Kris until contriving this ludicrous claim. Although Kourtney is named in the suit, she is not accused of doing anything improper with the guard, nor did she do so.”
At the moment, it’s Kris’ word against Marc’s word. The legal teams will have to dig deeper to determine what really happened during the term of employment. However, it seems highly unlikely that Kris would be racist because of the fact that her boyfriend, Corey Gamble, is African American as well as other extended members of her family. On a higher level, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians family members have been in the limelight for many years which unfortunately causes people to go after their wealth. Hopefully this lawsuit goes away as quickly as it came because it appears to be a money grab.
