Warning! Spoilers ahead for Heroes Reborn #3
In the latest issue of Marvel Comics' Heroes Reborn, Marvel's version of The Flash is worse than Barry Allen in Zack Snyder's Justice League when it comes to their attention spans. While Barry Allen had a plethora of monitors and TVs all over his hideout in order to hold his hyper-active attention, the Blur's Stanley Stewart goes way further with his distractions, taking it to the next level in the remade Marvel Universe.
In Heroes Reborn, the Marvel Universe has been drastically changed due to the fact that the Avengers never assembled. Instead, the Squadron Supreme of America have taken their place as Earth's Mightiest Heroes. As a result, the Marvel Universe now holds quite a few parallels to the DC Universe, seeing as how the Squadron have long been a pastiche of the Justice League, serving as Marvel's counterparts to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and more. As a result, Heroes Reborn #3 from Jason Aaron, Federico Vicentini, and Ed McGuinness sees The Blur serving as Marvel's version of The Flash. Furthermore, all that he does to hold his extreme lack of an attention span it revealed, rivaling Barry Allen's by quite a bit.
The issue begins with Stanley Stewart at home, watching television on 48 different TVs all at the same time, while also texting, taking selfies, and playing video games on 20 phones simultaneously. However, Stanley's television needs are also interesting when compared to Barry Allen's. In Zack Snyder's Justice League, Barry Allen had an episode of Rick and Morty on in the background. In comparison, Stanley Stewart takes it even further, having put a mystical hack on his televisions that allows him to view channels from across dimensions, not unlike Rick and Morty's beloved "Interdimensional Cable" episodes where they do the same thing.
Apparently, it takes quite a bit to keep The Blur's attention, so much so that he even live streams his battles with some of his most dangerous villains such as the Silver Witch. Furthermore, it looks as though he can also become forgetful as to when he is, being so fast that Blur can find himself running through time and getting lost due to the hyperactivity of his accelerated mind. However, the issue also reveals that he does have the ability to slow down and focus when he really tries, allowing him to reclaim his soul after the Silver Witch had taken it from him.
In any case, The Blur seems to be a lot more cavalier and cocky with his powers than The Flash, while also having a lot less discipline in terms of his focus and attention span. Being that as it may, he seems to be getting the job done as a hero all the same, doing his part in keeping the world safe alongside the Squadron Supreme. However, it does appear as though Blade the Vampire Hunter is doing what he can to reassemble the Avengers and restore the world he remembers, so it might not be long before the SSA finds themselves at war as Heroes Reborn continues.
