Sonja Morgan is one of the many treasures of Bravo's The Real Housewives of New York. Since her debut in season 3, Sonja has given fans some of the most memorable moments in RHONY history. Her hilarious one-liners, her emotional attachment to her former life as a married Morgan, and her amusing relationship with gal-pal Ramona Singer are all reasons why Sonja Morgan is a RHONY queen.
With season 13 around the corner, fans binging old episodes. More importantly, rewatching the reunions gives great insight into how that particular season went and how the women dolled up for the occasion. Reunion looks have changed over the years — they were far less dressy in the early seasons — but Sonja has always served viewers powerful looks.
10 Season 8
In the eighth season, Sonja was feeling a little lonely as a single gal whose daughter just went off to boarding school. To help, Luann moved into her townhouse until Sonja found a new apartment. It was also in this season where Sonja was inspired by Bethenny's Skinny Girl company and created a new line of wine called Tipsy Girl. This, of course, caused a major backlash from Bethenny and stirred the pot in their friendship.
At the reunion, Sonja wore a pale pink, floor-length gown and look absolutely stunning. Sadly, it wasn't as eye-catching as some of her other looks, and she kind of faded into the background.
9 Season 4
Season 4 was Sonja's second full season. Now that she got the hang of how filming RHONY went, she could relax and be more herself on camera. In this season, Sonja's personal finances were at the forefront.
She was struggling financially and didn't know how to climb herself out of debt. This topic carried on throughout the reunion, in which she wore a stunning one-shoulder forest green dress. While Sonja was emotional and drained, she looked gorgeous.
8 Season 6
Season 6 was another emotional season for Sonja. She was still having financial woes, which a new housewife, Kristen Taekman, tried to help her with. On top of her business ventures and financial planning, Sonja had a tough season with her best friend Ramona and Luann. It's not often that these three fight, so it was hard to watch. This was also the season where Sonja started casually dating Harry Dubin.
At the reunion, Sonja wore a form-fitting rosy pink dress with black lace trim on the sides.
7 Season 3
Season 3 was where it all started for Sonja. It was her first season on RHONY and she fit in perfectly. Due to her past histories with most of the housewives, it was odd that she wasn't a part of the series from the start — she made the perfect Real Housewife.
For her first reunion, Sonja knocked it out of the park. She wore a short white cocktail dress with a pearl necklace. The off-the-shoulder neckline did wonders for her. She looked very presidential.
6 Season 12
In the most recent season that aired, season 12 was filled with different dynamics and drama. Leah McSweeney was new to the cast, Tinsley was on her way out, and Dorinda was clearly facing demons and taking her pain out on others. Sonja was happy-go-lucky in this season and really got along with Leah. She seemed to be in a better place financially and had a good time with the girls.
Because of COVID-19, season 12's reunion was a little different. All the ladies were spaced out from each other and styled with masks between commercial breaks. Sonja wore a stunning black gown with a crystal neckline. This reunion was the first time Sonja wore black to a reunion.
5 Season 5
In the fifth season, Sonja launched a catering service called Sonja in the City. Heather Thomson tried to help Sonja with the marketing aspect of the company but as always, Sonja's attention span fell flat.
Her bond with Ramona also seemed to ruffle some feathers because the two kept showing up late for events — or not at all. They were in their own little world. Their attitude continued at the reunion where Sonja wore a sparkly cocktail dress with her hair in loose waves.
4 Season 11
At the season 11 reunion, Sonja looked alluring with this blue minidress. It hugged her curves beautifully and had fun sleeves with a high neck. This shade of blue was definitely her color and made her stand out.
It was in this season where Sonja had her famous breakdown in the Berkshires. Dorinda took Sonja to an old Morgan home that was turned into a museum of sorts. Seeing all of her husband's family's things brought back a lot of dark emotions for Sonja.
3 Season 9
Sonja rarely opts for plunging necklines, making this dress hard to beat in the world of Real Housewives reunions. There's been nothing similar to it since The Real Housewives of Orange County kicked off the franchise.
In the ninth season, Tinsley just joined the cast and moved in with Sonja while looking for a new apartment. Sonja took Tinsley in like she was her daughter but that relationship soon faded when Sonja didn't feel that Tinsley was appreciative enough. This was the start of a long battle between the two blondes.
2 Season 7
This dress and hairstyle really worked for Sonja. She looked like a golden goddess at the seventh season reunion.
Sadly, her look during the season wasn't as golden. Sonja fought with a few of the housewives throughout season 7, mainly because of her failed business meetings with Bethenny and her constant partying. It was obvious that Sonja was hiding her pain from the ladies and lashed out socially.
1 Season 10
Sonja's look at the season 10 reunion was her very best. With sheer sleeves and golden accents throughout her dress and accessories, she looked breathtaking. Sonja rarely wears her hair like this, which was fun to see.
In the 10th season, most of the drama revolved around Bethenny, Carole, and Dorinda, but Sonja's one-liners and support are always the best.
